Advance Eora Fair? It didn't quite work

I was not going to mention the singing of the national anthem at the State of Origin 3, but have just read an article on how it has outraged a number of the Aboriginal community.

I agree that some form of reconciliation is necessary on all levels of the community.

However, whilst it was a nice gesture, having an Aboriginal translated version of Advance Australia Fair is not a way to do it.

It sounded extremely poor and made a mockery of the song.

This duel language anthem has worked in South Africa and New Zealand, but given there seems to be no one set language that all Aboriginal people can agree to, it has probably annoyed more than it has pleased.

I think it should be dropped from all further events.

I would like to know other Roarers thoughts on this.
