Briggs collapse a kick in the teeth for boxing fans

Nicolas Cage was gone in 60 seconds. Not to be outdone, “Hurricane” Briggs did it in 29. It appeared that World Cup fever hit Paul Briggs harder then any punch thrown by Danny Green.

If they (footballers) can dive, why can’t he?

The difference is no penalty or free kick will greet him. He must settle for the blood thirsty West Australians, who were left no less than $59 out of pocket.

“I would have been one of the ten lining up on the railing to spit on him,” a fitting quote courtesy of my West Australian mate.

Although Briggs can expect far worse than fluid from the mouths of Australia fans. In fact, he’ll have done well to leave the country in one piece.

Briggs is not the only culprit in this ongoing saga. Enter Danny Green and Anthony Mundine, the fake men of boxing shall it be said. Each put forward a case for the status of being “the best”, so why are they going toe to toe with the old man of yesteryear and the unknown thug with more tattoos than brains.

The sport in itself boasts more corruption than anything offered in African politics.
