Speculation of a new plan has arisen in the effort to keep the Kings in Sacramento for the coming NBA season. The Kings, who are planning a move to Anaheim next season, were, until this news, considered to be all but out the door.

According to sources within the Sacramento media, a new plan would involve funding to support a new sports complex in Sacramento or a refurbishment of the current PowerBalance Pavilion.

Further information is expected to be released after team representatives meet the government and business leaders behind the proposal this weekend.

The news is a big surprise, and if effective, could lead to a startling change of events in the Kings sweepstakes. Without an alternative arrangement, the team would certainly move to Anaheim in southern California and leave their home of 20 years in Sacramento.
