Kaka back to Milan?

He’s one of the most infamous players to ever pull on a Rossoneri shirt. He has made the number 22 jersey iconic for Milan. And he may be on the return if Milan CEO Adriano Galliani can weave his magic.

Milan have recently made it no secret that they want Kaka to return to the San Siro.

He is a legend there and despite leaving Milan for a record sum in 2009, he remains the ideal signing in the Rossoneri fans’ hearts. However, how appealing the deal may seem, it won’t be easy to get Real Madrid to allow him to leave.

Galliani recently went on record saying “Will it be possible to sign Kaka? It will be difficult, very difficult”.

However Kaka has hinted that he is willing to do anything to wear the red and black jersey once more.

Galliani has been in talks with Kaka’s agent and a deal could see him take a sixth-month loan deal with a possible option to purchase outright at the end of the season.

When he left Milan in 2009, Kaka was an exciting player. He was set to become one of the major components of the new Galacticos. However injuries and a lack of playing time have seen his value plummet to a point where he is now surplus to Real Madrid’s requirements.

However this is not a pity loan designed to boost player and fan moral. Kaka is the most clinical midfielder in the Real Madrid squad, averaging a goal per 186 minutes. This statistic puts him in a better scoring position than Bojan and Robinho, two of Milan’s strikers.

A move to Milan would see Kaka almost certainly make the first team. The trequartista role is certainly not being filled well and this is a position in which Kaka excels. And with a vacant number nine jersey, Bojan (who currently wears the number twenty two jersey) would most likely change to allow Kaka to wear the number his name has become synonymous with.

If Kaka were to make a return to the San Siro, it is doubtful he would stay long term. Milan has recently chosen to take the club in a new direction, mirroring the likes of Arsenal, in a bid to become self sufficient by investing in the youth sectors.

Milan have also recently secured the services of Riccardo Saponara, a ‘new’ Kaka who Milan hope will replace the void left in the squad when the Brazilian left. With Saponara in the squad for the 2013/14 season, it is doubtful Kaka would stay.
