Canberra winger Sandor Earl is reportedly under investigation by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) following allegations he was treated with peptides at a private clinic without the knowledge of his former club Penrith during the 2011 NRL season.
The Nine Network has reported that Earl is being probed following claims he was treated with peptides at a clinic in Cabramatta in Sydney’s southwest.
There is ongoing debate as to whether peptides were on the list of banned substances by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Nine says Earl has obtained legal representation, with the news coming as ASADA continues its investigation into the use of banned substances in the NRL and AFL.
A Canberra spokesman said the club was unaware of the allegations until Thursday evening and would not make any comment until the NRL has advised them further.
Penrith also said they were not aware of anything involving their former player, who left the club midway through last season to join the Raiders.
