Craig Joubert from Durban, South Africa has been appointed to referee the 2013 Super XV Final between the ACT Brumbies and the Waikato Chiefs.

Joubert is arguably considered the best referee in the world at present and thoroughly deserves his appointment to this match.

This will also appease many supporters on both sides of the ditch (except Mr David Lord with reference to his most recent article) as Joubert is a neutral referee (i.e. not from Australia or New Zealand).

Steve Walsh “from” Australia was not appointed in any capacity to the game, which I thought was quite disappointing as I thought he had one of his best games in recent memory with the all New Zealand Semi-Final days ago.

Joubert will be joined on the match panel by Assistant Refereees Chris Pollock and Garratt Williamson from New Zealand and TMO Vinny Munro, also from New Zealand.
