Over the coming AFL trade season we all hope our favourite team can boost their battle stocks with some clever negotiating. But this is not possible for all teams, there are always winners and losers in football.

It was another successful day at the combine with the kicking test and the 20m sprint being the main events of the day. Sandringham DragonJosh Kelly impressed with a silky left boot and impressive explosive power.

Likely number one draft pick Tom Boyd was cool, calm and collected in front of the media and the same out on the field (like always, he impressed.)

The combine will continue today with even more pressure as the testing continues and the scouts narrow down their list for draft day in November.

Most of the reporters think that they know the draft already but that could all change in an instant with an impressive performance.

Just to recap yesterday’s news:

  • The Cats delisted James Podsiadly and it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing on.
  • Paul Chapman will have to find a new home after also being delisted from the cats.
  • Eddie Betts is exploring free agency and is likely to go to Adelaide.
  • Dale Thomas was offered 700,000 a year by Carlton.
  • Port Adelaide signed Irishman Daniel Flynn.
  • Colin Sylvia announced a move to the Dockers.
  • Melbourne and GWS announced they would be trading their draft picks for a reasonable return.
  • Carlton youngster Jeremy Laidler announced he would be happy to move interstate to continue his AFL career.

Keeping coming back today for more live updates as they happen throughout the day.
