George Bailey may have been the centre of criticism in the crowd just because he debuted as a captain, but over time he has really worked up on his game and is starting to earn respect.

The selectors trust in Bailey. His classy batting has somewhat covered for the fact that we miss Mike Hussey.

Australia plays One Day Cricket far better than how they play in the longer form of the game. Australia have lost 7 out of the last 9 Test matches they have played while two have ended in a draw.

It may be a co-incidence but after Mike Hussey’s retirement Australia is yet to win a Test match.

Like we did find Bailey as Hussey’s replacement in One Day Cricket it’s high time that they give him a chance for The Ashes.

Bailey said in an interview that selectors have already hinted at an Ashes spot if he has a great Indian tour, which has started with a bang as he played the back bone knock which took Australia to 303 and the victory.

No one in domestic cricket is scoring heaps of runs so the selectors have to pick players on their instinct and Bailey is in the form of his life, scoring in each and every match under pressure situations.

According to me Bailey has done enough to earn the spot in the first Ashes Test at the Gabba which starts 21st November.
