Umm, yes you are right this odi series would have felt a lot better if it had been contested after or before the 4 Test series against India earlier this year and yes India is managing the calender way better than Cricket Australia at the moment

Given how Johnson is bowling at the moment, i guess he will make it in along with Harris and Siddle (Watto 4th Bowler and hopefully Lyon) and Johnson/ Hilfy/ Siddle trio does not give a feel good factor to be honest.

@Nudge yeah that’s what i am on about, he is scoring and scoring consistently in international games and a good 7 match series along with practice before Ashes (ultimately it’s about scoring runs in international cricket) and he may just rise up to the occasion
@Gr8rWeStr Some players who score heaps and heaps of runs in domestic don’t score at the big level, and Bailey is scoring in the second most important form of cricket, not under estimating Cowan’s contribution but i simply feel Bailey deserves a shot at The Baggy Green and a lot of this feel comes out because of how he is playing at the moment
@Chris Can’t deny that what you are saying is true but if we look at the pool we have Ed Cowan, Phil Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Maxwell and Bailey and no one between them has done well internationally as good as Bailey has done. Even the selectors may go for Bailey in the end with the same reason that he is the one who looks solid in no matter what form of the game. The Australian batting order collapses in no time and everyone other than Bailey has been a part of that order. Australia lost 3-0 to England so Bailey may serve up as a change and we never know if he goes on to score the ones.
@Den Klinger not getting an opportunity has nothing to do with Bailey, but everything to do with his bad luck. Klinger’s role and much deserving chance have already been talked about a lot and it doesn’t really feel that the selectors want him in.
