With the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh just around the corner, the selectors are starting to look at potential players to represent Australia.

The BBL has been a huge success and more players are starting to emerge as stars.

Australia have never won a T20 World Cup and after the success of the Ashes and BBL, they will want to take that momentum into the World Cup.

Here is a possible squad I think the selectors will take.

Australia has a big pool of opening batsman to choose from.

The most obvious ones are David Warner and Aaron Finch.

Warner is arguably the most dangerous T20 player in the world and is going through a purple patch at the moment.

He was awesome during the Test series and explosive in the one dayers.

Aaron Finch was the 2013 T20 player of the year and is almost a lock.

He has been a little inconsistent, but his overall T20 average of 38 across all tournaments fantastic.

Shane Watson and Cameron White are two other openers who should be in the squad.

Both players play in the middle order, so they should have no trouble slotting in at three and four respectively.

Captain George Bailey should come in at number five.

He has that ability to deposit almost any bowler at any time and can come in a save a match or build an innings.

Glenn Maxwell will most likely go at number six.

Maxwell however, does have to improve his game.

In 15 matches he has eight wickets at 27 and 138 at 15, with a highest score of 27.

They are not the numbers of a $1 million IPL man.

His bowling has improved, but he has yet to really play a strong innings when Australia needed it.

He will come under pressure from Steve Smith.

Matthew Wade will probably get the keepers slot.

Although Brad Haddin is a better keeper, I believe the selectors will look to Wade as he has shown he can be a good T20 finisher.

Dunk may go as an extra player, but you Paine was the resident Hurricanes ‘keeper.

It is also a chance to blood some youth.

Then you have the bowlers.

Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Coulter-Nile are my four speeders.

There is a big pool of players, but these four are proven and have done the job for Australia during the summer.

Pattinson is probably more of a four and five day bowler and could count himself unlucky.

Now four the final four sports.

Australia will look to take at least one more specialist batsman.

I think they will go for Shaun Marsh.

Although Marsh does have his injury concerns, he is one of the world premier short form players.

He averages 40.55 from over 100 matches across many tournaments including 44 in the IPL showing his strength in the subcontinental conditions.

This is supreme to fellow Australian David Warner who averages 31 in 160 matches and just 28 at international level.

The selectors should also look at Moises Henriques.

His medium pacers will be useful in Bangladesh and he has shown in the IPL that he can whack a ball when the time comes.

The selectors will also look to take another spinner.

James Muirhead is a chance at going after impressing against England.

He will have to play some more cricket for Victoria between now and then as they will not want to take him in underdone.

He is still a bit raw, so Brad Hogg may come into the frame again.

Hogg has been the hardest bowler to get away and has been around for a long time.

New spin consultant Shane Warne may have the final say.

Lyon could also be an option but he is more of a Test specialist.

While Doherty has seems out of favour in the T20 game.

O’keefe could also be an option. He has 31 wickets from 46 matches in T20.

Hogg said recently in a press conference that the national selection panel had him in the frame and if he keeps bowling economically, he will get a go.

The final position could come from anywhere. Australia could take a reserve keeper or go with another allrounder.

Dan Christian could be the final candidate, while Brad Hodge is back in the game.

Dunk was awesome in the recent series while Voges is an experienced campaigner.

James Faulkner was in my initial squad, but the selectors may not include him if he has not played in cricket for two months coming off a big injury.

I think the final selection will be Steve Smith.

He has shown to be the finishing specialist for the 6ers during the BBL.

He is also a good bowler and a incredibly quick fielder.

This could also be the chance for him to establish himself as a regular in the short form of the games.
