Chelsea‘s Premier League hopes have taken a dive and their Champions League campaign could soon follow if they fail to show up away from home against a very strong Paris Saint-Germain. Join us for live scores and commentary from 5:30am AEDT.

Last week’s defeat to Crystal Palace has left Chelsea’s Premier League ambitions in disarray given Liverpool and Man City are in prime positions to win the title.

They’re now set to face another assault against a PSG outfit capable of winning the Champions League. Jose Mourinho will set up Chelsea to play on the counter tonight in a bid to perhaps secure a priceless away goal.

Chelsea’s back four will certainly be in for a tough shift tonight as they look to contain attacking stars Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lucas Moura. That quartet makes up a devastating PSG forward line that can tear any opposition defence apart.

Paris are also well served at the back, where Thiago Silva is a commanding presence in defence for the French club.

In short, if PSG turn up with their best football, they will most likely go on and secure a valuable first-leg lead to take to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea, however, know what it takes to win the big matches. Their experience in the Champions League is vital and their constant ability to produce results when their backs are against the wall remains their greatest trait.

PSG will be expected at home to put on a show against Chelsea, but the Blues certainly know how to keep any team at bay.

An early goal for Paris will put Chelsea behind the eight ball in a big way. PSG are very strong frontrunners and will be impossible to stop if the likes of Cavani and Ibrahimovic are allowed to find form.

PSG to win 2-0.
