An 11-time NBA All Star, a 5-time All-NBA first team member, and a 1-time MVP, there’s no disputing Charles Barkley’s resumé as a player is impressive. Unfortunately Charles’ form on national TV leaves a lot to be desired.

During his 16-year career Barkley was better known for on-court tantrums than his humility, and his short temper was on full display again during the TNT post-game coverage of the Houston Rockets’ victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey tweeted the following message directed at Barkley, who played four seasons with the Rockets between 1996-2000:

Barkley is known to have an issue with Rockets’ management as it has been reported the team owes Barkley over $3 million from his playing days. But his response to Morey’s tweet was stunning.

Barkley all but confirmed Morey’s opinion that he is biased against the Rockets by labelling analytics ‘crap’ and stating the Rockets are not legitimate contenders, despite boasting the fourth best record in the league this season.

Barkley went further, claiming Morey invented analytics because he wasn’t good enough to play at a professional level and couldn’t get girls in high school.

Seems like a solid argument – no misinformed vitriol disguised as entertainment there, right?
