Floyd Mayweather has beaten Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision in their world welterweight title bout in Las Vegas.

The American extended his unbeaten record to 48 bouts with the win over the 36-year-old Filipino in front of a sell-out crowd at the MGM Grand on Saturday.

Mayweather successfully defended his WBC and WBA titles and added Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight belt to his collection from a bout branded the “Fight of the Century”.

The judges’ scorecards read: 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 in favour of Mayweather in a decision that didn’t go down well with his defeated opponent.

“I thought I won the fight. He didn’t do nothing,” said Pacquiao.

Mayweather, who said the last fight of his career will be in September before he retires, was full of praise for Pacquiao.

“Now I see why he’s one of the guys at the pinnacle of boxing,” he said.
