Round 15: The difference between a Swan and a Hawk

Tell me, what is the difference between a Swan and a Hawk?
There’s no resemblance really ‘cause they’re like cheese and chalk
A Swan might be adept but a Hawk is a more powerful bird
So to make any comparison might be somewhat absurd.

You see, a Swan might have advantage with size and with weight
But although a Hawk is much smaller, its attacking is great
Just watch Sammy or Doc and you’ll know what I mean
They produce some of the best tackles the game’s ever seen.

When it comes to speed a Swan is quite slow on dry land
But a Hawk’s ability to move fast gives it the upper hand
A Hawk is both speedy on the ground and agile in the air
Hilly, Pop, Smithy and Cyril come straight to mind there.

With steely resolve a Hawk will fix its eye on its prey
It can locate small targets from a hundred feet away
But a Swan spends its time hissing and flapping its wings
You’d never catch Hodgey doing either of those things.

A Swan might be graceful but in truth it’s really quite vain
It thinks only of itself and what it alone might gain
But a Hawk soars upward together with the rest of its flock
To see which team is better you don’t need to be Sherlock.

The Hawks and the Swans played this year in Round 8
Sadly for Hawthorn the result wasn’t all that great
In a spirited contest they were beaten by a margin of four
But this time expect the Swans to be shown the door.
