With word going around that Matthew Kreuzer is looking for a new home, should Carlton trade to get themselves a replacement ruckman? Or are they happy with what they have?

If they trade then they could go after Stefan Martin. Martin would be the primary choice, as he wants to come home to Victoria.

Martin, so far this year, has the fifth highest hit-outs for the season. His ability to get the ball all around the ground with an average of 21.6 disposals per game would be an advantage. He would be a good fit for the Blues, but what would they be willing to trade for him?

One choice would be Tom Bell, who has been rumoured to want a return to Queensland. But Brisbane would still have to give up a draft pick or two in my opinion, probably as high as a second-round pick.

Carlton need to go hard to get themselves a good ruckman and Martin is perfect. Their only other choice is to try free agency and pick up a quality player like Matthew Leuenberger or Mark Jamar.

Jamar is getting to the end his career, but his experience would be good for the Blues. Leuenberger has a reputation of being injury prone but has had a good season this year, when he was fit.

Carlton are firmly in a rebuilding phase and getting a top ruckman must be a priority for the club.
