West Coast’s Luke Shuey kicked the first goal of the 2015 AFL Grand Final, kicking the first major of the match after 2:04 of play.

It was a good start for the West Coast Eagles as they nailed the first major of the game but things have only gotten worse from there as Hawthorn’s experience and tenacity has shone through as the game continues.

The Hawks scored the next goal of the game through Cyril Rioli to even up the scores and then ran away with it, kicking five goals unanswered in the first term.

Ben McEvoy, Grant Birchall, and Brad Hill were their other goalscorers in that quarter, while Rioli kicked a second and also set up Hill’s goal, staking his name as an early contender for the Norm Smith Medal.

The Hawks continued their dominance in the second quarter kicking the first four goals of the term, ultimately setting up a 31-point lead at half time that will most likely see them claim the 2015 premiership, their third in a row.

An excellent banana goal from the boundary from skipper Luke Hodge was the highlight of the lot though the Hawks also found a goal from Isaac Smith and two in a row from Jack Gunston.

The Eagles were able to set up opportunities at times in the first and early second quarter but just struggled to convert their chances, being 1.6 at one point on the scoreboard.

A poor decision from Luke Shuey that cost the Eagles a second goal early in the game, along with bad misses from the likes of Jack Darling and Shannon Hurn on set shots have prevented them from holding their own.

Those punters that put money on the Eagles midfielder to score the first goal of the game have been rewarded, but as far as Eagles fans are concerned, it was merely a blip on the radar before the Hawks came out to dominate the first half.
