'We needed that': Manly put close game hoodoo to bed by ending losing streak in Storm nail-biter

Coach Craig Bellamy is set to agree to a new contract with Melbourne ahead of the NRL season.
Bellamy’s contract with the Storm concludes at the end of 2016, but he has an option for a further two years in his favour.
The premiership-winning mentor is keen to sort out his future before the Storm begin their season against St George Illawarra at AAMI Park on Monday March 7.
“I’d like it to be(by then) to be quite honest,” he said.
“You’d like to be heading into the season without too many distractions, whether it’s a distraction or not I’m not quite sure. The last thing we’ll do is use any excuses though.”
The Storm were disappointing in their 20-0 trial loss to Canterbury on Saturday night.
The 16-day break before their season start will give Bellamy plenty of time to work out what went wrong and on deciding his own future.
A new contract would take Bellamy’s association with Melbourne to 16 seasons.
“We have a couple of weeks off now so hopefully I can sit down, have a think and go from there,” he said.
Cooper Cronk is also off contract but Bellamy was less sure the star halfback’s future would be clearer before the match against the Dragons.
“I think mine will be but with Cooper’s I’m not so sure,” he said.
