McGregor attempted a take down in the second round after taking a few hits from Diaz early but this backfired horribly.
Diaz gave McGregor a series of strong blows and took control of the fight, choking McGregor into submission.
The fight was McGregor’s debut at welterweight level after an immensely successful career as a featherweight.
