The Socceroos are set to name an extended squad for the upcoming friendlies against England and Greece.
The initial game against England does not take place during an international window, meaning players in Asia will likely not be able to play in the game.
Ange Postecoglou has hinted that he may have to name a larger squad that he would traditionally use to make up for the seven or so regular Socceroos could miss out.
Nathan Burns, Ryan McGowan, Trent Sainsbury, Matthew Spiranovic, James Troisi, Tim Cahill and Apostolos Giannou will all still be with their club teams at the time of the England match.
Mark Milligan should be available for the game however, with the UAE Pro League finishing next week.
The impact is big for the Socceroos with serious dents in both the defensive and forward lines.
The game could see new faces called into the side with Dylan McGowan a potential candidate to replace his older brother after his impressive season for Adelaide United. Milos Degenek could also be called up due to his ability to play at centre-back. Degenek has made 26 appearances in Germany’s second division this season, arguably enough for a call-up against England.
The absence of Giannou and Cahill could make room for Jamie Maclaren, who was the A-League’s second top goalscorer after Bruno Fornaroli. A call-up against England could be big for the young striker as he potentially eyes a move overseas.
Craig Goodwin could be a potential replacement for Nathan Burns. He has been one of the league’s most consistent performers although he may have to jostle with Tommy Oar for a spot in the team, with Oar finding regular game time at Brisbane Roar after terminating his contract overseas earlier in the year.
Oar’s teammate Brandon Borrello is another potential for the Socceroos although much more of an outside chance than either Oar or Goodwin.

Australia play England in Sunderland on May 27 before playing Greece twice in Sydney and Melbourne on June 4 and 7 respectively.
