Five and a kick: Hasler's pain game, RTS is a choke point and why Souths should give Demetriou a month

Jarryd Hayne has announced he will sign with the Gold Coast Titans for two years, but in better news for the club he will be allowed to play through the remainder of the 2016 season, and according to the TAB their odds have been slashed immediately.
At the close of business yesterday, the Titans were a massive $67 to win the premiership, but this morning after the bombshell dropped on the NRL, they are into just $17.
That’s quite a drop…
This could continue to fall over the coming days, and given how the Eels are playing it is hardly a surprise. They sit on the edge of the top eight, and an x-factor player like Hayne could be the spark that they need to win a premiership either this year, or indeed in the future.
The impact of Hayne on the Titans should be immediate, with the press conference, conducted by Graham Annesely, Neil Henry and Hayne himself suggesting he could play this weekend against the New Zealand Warriors.
Whether Hayne has the form that he held before leaving the NRL in 2014 remains to be seen, but punters have voted instantly.

In other news, the signing of Hayne for next year has brought the Titans into just $10 for the premiership while Hayne is $15 to win the 2017 Dally M Medal.

That’s quite a big shift for a bloke who hasn’t played in 18 months.
