World Cup qualifiers EPL round up

With the World Cup qualifiers taking place, there have been plenty of EPL stars in action.

Manchester City
​New signing John Stones kept a clean sheet for England and Raheem Sterling featured as well. David Silva continued his impressive international form by scoring four goals in two games while Nolito bagged three assists. Kevin de Bruyne managed to play full 90 mins for Belgium.

Manchester United
The international break was not too kind for Man United as Henrik Mkhitaryan got injured while playing for Armenia while Luke Shaw pulled out of the England squad as precaution. David De Gea kept a clean sheet for Spain while Wayne Rooney, Daley Blind, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini all featured for their respective countries.

Chelsea
Gary Cahill put a solid performance to keep a clean sheet for England against Slovakia. Diego Costa scored two goals for Spain in a demolition of Liechtenstein. Bran Ivanovic captained Serbia who could only draw 2-2 at home to Ireland. Asmir Begovic and Thibaut Courtois both kept clean sheets for their respective nations.

Eden Hazard assisted a goal in Belgium’s 3 0 win over Cyprus.

Arsenal
Superstar Mesut Ozil appeared in both games for Germany while new signing Shkodran Mustafi played a friendly against Finland and kept a clean sheet. Granit Xhaka saw a red card while playing for Switzerland.

Laurent Koscielny kept a clean sheet for France against Belarus in the match where Olivier Giroud also featured. Theo Walcott made a brief cameo for England against Slovakia.

Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier all featured for England in the 1-0 away win in Slovakia. Mixed game for Christian Eriksen who scored for Denmark against Armenia but also missed a penalty.​

Vincent Janssen looked solid in Netherlands 1-1 draw in Sweden while Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen kept clean sheet for Belgium in Cyprus. New signing Mousa Sissoko also featured for France.

Finally, September’s international break is over and clubs will be glad to get back their players. Some fully fit while some with niggles. Bring on the Premier League weekend now.
