Young excellence, promotion battles, and a happy farewell: The Australian team of the week from players around the globe
Even though St.Pauli ultimately lost a high-scoring affair, Jackson Irvine was a standout, as well as scoring a late goal.
Roarers – we asked you to vote on our player rankings from the Socceroos’ 1-1 draw with Denmark at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Well, the results are in.
Mat Leckie and Trent Sainsbury were the two players who got a big thumbs up from out voters. Leckie was best afield for the Socceroos with an average rating of 8.63.
Sainsbury and Aaron Mooy both did well behind him – Sainsbury with an average rating of 7.20, and Mooy at 7.74.
Perhaps most notable though is the support our voters have shown for Daniel Arzani, giving him an average rating of 7.53 for his stint towards the end of the game.
With Australia having only one remaining fixture left in the group stage at Russia, the message to Bert van Marwijk is pretty clear: we want more Arzani!
