Former Australia captain Steve Smith was out for 10 in his second match at the Global T20 Canada.

Smith, unable to play for Australia while serving a 12-month ban for ball-tampering, hit a couple of boundaries then pulled Canada medium-pacer Satsimranjit Dhindsa straight to Hassan Khan at deep square leg on Saturday.

Smith scored 61 in his first match on Thursday.

Smith’s departure left Toronto Nationals on 4-33 in the sixth over.

They recovered to make 7-169, thanks to Nitish Kumar’s 55 off 37 balls, Kieron Pollard’s 28 off 16, and Mohammad Naveed’s 26 off 13.

The Edmonton Royals chased down the target with five overs to spare, reaching 2-173.

Openers Andre Fletcher of West Indies (68 not out) and Luke Ronchi of New Zealand (47) combined for 71, and Fletcher finished the rout with Agha Salman and Farhaan Behardien.

The five-team competition ends on July 15.
