We’re taking a look at one player from each team that needs to make a difference this week, starting with the ANZAC Day games.
Yet again Roaming Brian has proven to be one of the shining lights in investigate footy journalism with Channel Seven presenter Brian Taylor getting to the bottom of one of the competition’s great mysteries.
Geelong’s Gryan Miers has emerged as a crucial part of the Cats new-look forward line in 2019, booting goals in all but two games and helping provide the pressure that Chris Scott’s men had previously been lacking.

After slotting three majors in Geelong’s 67-point win over Richmond, Miers was given the full Roaming Brian treatment, revealing how his unsual name came about.
Miers’ father David also made a cameo appearance later on in the segment, getting drawn into a conversation about how he created the XBlades footy boots which have become so popular – although it didn’t appear to go the way Taylor wanted.
Gryan’s brilliant performance in Geelong’s victory came just days after it was announced he had re-signed with the club for another two years.
