They couldn’t get the victory over England to kickstart their Rugby World Cup campaign, but the Tongans won plenty of admirers in Japan.
Most popular of all the Tongans however would have to be power tighthead prop Ben Tameifuna, who according to the official Rugby World Cup website weighs 151kg, and has emerged as one of the biggest cult heroes of the World Cup already.
Tameifuna is the heaviest to feature at this year’s tournament and isn’t afraid to throw his weight around either.
The 28-year-old who plays for Racing 92 at club level, forms part of a brutal Tongan forward pack that ensured the hitout was anything but a walk in the park for England’s forwards.
