Our special A-League season preview, including a spotlight on Western United

9th October, 2019

It’s been billed as the most important A-League season in competition history and, with new ownership, a new TV deal and even a new team, it’s not hard to see why that call’s been made.

The 2019-20 A-League season kicks off tomorrow night when Adelaide United host defending champions Sydney FC at Cooper’s Stadium.

Can Perth Glory avenge their heartbreaking grand final defeat from a year ago? Can anyone dethrone the high-flying Sky Blues? Is this the year Melbourne City or the Western Sydney Wanderers get themselves back into contention? Can Wellington stay relevant? Will the Mariners finally get themselves off the bottom?

There are so many questions coming into the season, and we got Roar football expert Mike Tuckerman on the
Game of Codes podcast to answer them ahead of the season getting underway.

After previewing the season as a whole, we dedicated a whole segment to the newest kids on the A-League block; Western United. What can fans expect from the team from Tarneit this season? Are they a finals chance? How good are those jerseys?

Visit our Game of Codes hub to catch the full episode and be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
