Three wickets for Alana King and Beth Mooney’s 45 not out have pushed Australia to a routine victory over Ireland in their T20 international in Bready.

Australia’s opening fixture in the Twenty20 tri-nation series with Pakistan had been washed out a day earlier, but they were able to cruise home with 43 balls to spare on Sunday.

King, who claimed three wickets in an over on Saturday, was again tormentor-in-chief with another three-for, including the key scalp of Rebecca Stokell after a well-made 22.

Darcie Brown also claimed 2-9 to help restrict Ireland to 8-99, which was boosted by 14 not out from No.9 Ava Canning.

Tourists Australia had few worries in reply and brushed off Alyssa Healy’s early dismissal.

Mooney and captain Meg Lanning (39no) put on an unbroken second-wicket stand of 68 to clinch victory in the 13th over after five wides to continue their Commonwealth Games preparations.
