Hey Roarers!

Nailbiters, upsets, and come-from-behind victories. What more could you want from a weekend of footy?

The Raiders were sitting pretty at 18-0 against the Tigers at Campbelltown on Friday night when a sin bin to Tom Starling turned the game on its head. Three tries and a field goal within eight minutes saw the Tigers take the lead, but a late penalty goal to Jamal Fogarty gave the Green Machine a 20-19 win.

The Warriors were too strong for the Dolphins on Saturday afternoon, taking out a 30-8 win in front of their home crowd. Shaun Johnson led the way with his side scoring 18 points, with the Warriors proving once again they are ready to play September footy.

The Titans are nothing if not consistent, squandering yet another halftime lead on the Gold Coast. This time it was at the hands of the Rabbitohs, who went from trailing 22-16 to go on for a 46-28 victory. How are you holding up Titans fans?

The Broncos put the rest of the competition on notice Saturday night, with an impressive 20-12 win over the Sharks in the Shire. Five players backing up from Origin wasn’t enough to put them off their game, leaving the Sharks still unable to beat a Top 8 side this season. I hope Reece Walsh was able to borrow some pants to wear back home to Brisbane.

The Bulldogs and Roosters spent most of their match on Sunday afternoon neck and neck, and with five minutes to go the scores were locked at 24-24. Then up stepped Cool hand Luke Keary and slotted over a field goal, giving the Roosters a 25-24 win. And apparently, James Tedesco had a good game. I think he may have even been Knighted by Brad Fittler and Greg Alexander for his efforts.

The Cowboys may be down but they are definitely not out. Their embarrassing loss to the Tigers was well and truly in the rear-view mirror as they put on a dominating display against the Storm for a 45-20 victory at home. And it was a dream debut for winger Semi Valemei, scoring a hattrick in the win.

Then in the last match of the round…..tackles were made….tries were scored…..some other stuff happened……..Panthers beat the Dragons 26-18……….AND EVERYONE LOST THEIR MINDS BECAUSE NATHAN CLEARY INJURED HIS HAMSTRING. He has been ruled out for the rest of the Origin series – who would you put in the halves Roarers?

Marry, Mike, Paul and I tipped five, Stuart and you legends in the Crowd tipped four, with AJ getting three. Stuart and Mike are now tied for the lead on 65, and then it’s Mary and the Crowd tied on 61. Paul is on 60, I am not last anymore on 55, and then AJ is out the back on 54.

OK, onto Round 15!

The Titans and the Tigers kick off the festivities tonight at Cbus Stadium at 7:50pm. I’m sure it will be nothing like last year’s 8-6 debacle where the Tigers kicked just three penalty goals and the Titans scored just at the death to win.

On Friday night we make our way down to GIO Stadium to finally see Jarrod Croker play his 300th game as the Raiders take on the Warriors at 6pm. And just in case you didn’t know, Ricky Stuart was happy with his decision to rest Croker last week, and he doesn’t care what Kermit, Miss Piggy, or any of the other ‘muppets’ think.

Then we are off to 4 Pines Park to watch the Sea Eagles and the Dolphins at 8pm. Tommy Turbo has been given the green light to play after copping a head knock during Origin I, but the Dolphins will be without Tom Gilbert who will undergo surgery after a bone broke off when he dislocated his shoulder in the same game. Ouch.

Super Saturday kicks off at Netsrata Jubilee when the Dragons host the Rabbitohs at 3pm. Cody Walker, Damien Cook Keaon Kolomantangi and Campbell Graham will all be out to impress the NSW selectors, while I’m pretty sure Ben Hunt will just picture himself in his happy place and just run around pretending he is wearing his Maroons jersey.

The Knights make their way up to Suncorp Stadium to take on the Broncos at 5:30pm. Newcastle are fresh off the bye, while Brisbane should be fully clothed again and ready to back up from their win against the Sharks.

Then it’s back to Sydney where the Roosters and Panthers do battle at Allianz Stadium at 7.35pm. Can the Roosters take advantage of a Cleary-less Penrith?

We only have one game on Sunday, and that’s the Storm hosting the Sharks at AAMI Park at 4pm. Both teams are coming off surprising losses and will be looking to make up for it here.

And I’m not sure if we say happy birthday to the Queen, the King, or Meagan Markle, but thanks to someone we get Monday off! And because of that, we get to watch one of the game’s best rivalries, the Bulldogs and the Eels at Accor Stadium at 4pm.

The Cowboys will enjoy the bye – just in time to give my mate Reece Robson a rest before he gets his deserved call-up to Origin.

If you would like to have a go against the experts, just remember to get your tips in by 5pm tonight to be counted in The Crowd’s tips.

Happy tipping everyone!

No David Fifita is a concerning blow for the Titans, but they have been kind to me this season and did look good early against the Rabbitohs last week before things fell apart. They can beat the Tigers in this one.

Nothing will stop the Raiders from claiming the two points in Jarrod Crocker’s 300th game when they tackle the Warriors on Friday, Lock it in.

After a pleasant rest, the Sea Eagles will be too strong for an unsettled Dolphins team that suffers two key outs in Round 15.

The Bunnies should beat the Dragons at Kogarah, despite their injury concerns and the absence of Cam Murray. This one is the potential upset of the week.

The Knights will be fresh off the bye, but the Broncos just keep winning and meeting every challenge placed before them. Two more points at Suncorp for Brisbane.

Jack Cogger is no Nathan Cleary but should be able to slot into the Penrith machine well enough to see the men from the mountains outlast the Roosters at Allianz.

Nicho Hynes has the opportunity to lock in the half-back spot in blue for Origin II and that could be enough to get his Sharks across the line against a patchy Storm.

The Eels will put plenty on the Dogs on Monday afternoon at Accor Stadium, with their ladder position improving and the win a must.

This game is going to be chaos. I literally never know what to expect from the Titans and the Tigers have certainly improved in recent weeks. I’m tipping the Titans here because I think they have the capacity to score far more points than the Tigers. Their chaos will reign supreme on Thursday night.

The Raiders must win on Friday night to celebrate the glory that is Jarrod Croker. I cannot entertain any other option.

With the Dolphins and the Sea Eagles both battered and missing key players, the inclusion of Tom Trbojevic will be enough to get the Sea Eagles across the line.

The Rabbitohs will beat the Dragons and the Broncos will beat the Knights.

Despite a win last weekend, I am officially worried about the Roosters. Penrith will win this game, but it will provide an indication of how far, if at all, the Roosters are off the pace.

The Sharks are yet to beat a team in the top eight and that trend will continue as they come up against a Storm team who will want to bounce back after being embarrassed by the Cowboys.

Despite injury concerns for the Eels, I’m tipping them against an understrength Bulldogs team.

Titans v Tigers was the worst game of last year and hopes aren’t high this time around… Tigers to get revenge.

Raiders will do it in Game 300 for Jarrod Croker.

Sea Eagles v Dolphin is an easy fight. My beaches boys take it home.

The Bunnies might be without a few, but they’re still better than the Dragons. Souths to win.

Broncos by a thousand over the Knights.

Penrith are without Cleary, the Roosters desperately need this one. Let’s go for the Chooks.

After last week’s loss, I can’t tip the Sharks. Melbourne were rubbish too, but they’re rarely bad twice in a row. Storm to take it.

This game last year was a major upset and will be again: Doggies to win.

Gold Coast are a shaky proposition, the Tigers are improving. Both teams could top 40 in this one. Titans by 4.

Canberra are NRL’s second-worst defensive team but keep winning while the Warriors are improving but won’t spoil the Croker party. Raiders by a Croker sideline conversion.

Manly are also a dubious team to put faith in but the Dolphins are down on troops. Sea Eagles by 8.

Souths could rack up a big score on the Dragons even though a few stars are out. Rabbitohs by 10.

Brisbane could put a big score on Newcastle too, especially at Suncorp. Broncos by 14.

The Roosters are still well below their best and even without Nathan Cleary, the premiers will prevail. Panthers by 6.

Melbourne at home will lift, Cronulla are lacking a bit of punch. Storm by 1.

Canterbury are a sneaky chance in this one against Parra. What the heck, Dogs by 4.

I hate to say it folks, but we’re in for a handful of bludgeonings this weekend.

It’ll begin with Wests Tigers using their newfound potency to unload on the Titans.

Then your presumptive champions, the people’s team, the Canberra Raiders will celebrate Jarrod Croker’s 300th by laying a casual 56 on the hapless New Zealand.

Manly will whip the Dolphins, Bunnies will slaughter the Dragons, Brisbane will only beat the Knights and Penrith will massacre the Roosters.

Melbourne will continue the Sharks’ run of sucking against half-decent sides, and Parra will run away from the Dogs late. You heard it all here first…

Titans to lead at halftime, Tigers to win in the end thanks to an Alex Twal try.

If it was any other week this season I probably would have gone the Warriors. I cannot tip against the Raiders at home for Croker’s 300th.

Coin flip time!! Hmm……… Dolphins.

Bunnies by PLENTY.

The Panthers almost got done by the bottom-of-the-table Dragons last week. And with no Cleary, I’m tipping a desperate Roosters side for the win.

Bellamy will not let a performance like that happen again. Storm comfortably against the Sharks.

I tipped them last week and they were unlucky to lose by one point against the Roosters. I’m going with them again to cause an upset against the Eels who haven’t had the smoothest of weeks.

I tipped the Broncos last week when everyone tipped the Shaks because all of their Origin players were backing up. And they won. Now this is the week everyone is saying they will win easily – so as always, I’m tipping my Knights.
