Infamous pitch invader Daniel ‘Jarvo’ Jarvis has made an unexpected return to cause chaos before India’s opening World Cup match against Australia.

Having made worldwide headlines for a series of pitch invasions during a 2021 series between England and India in England, as well as at several rugby union matches, the serial prankster somehow avoided both tight-knit security at the MA Chindambaram Stadium in Chennai as well as a reported sold-out venue to make his way onto the playing field and engage Virat Kohli and Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul in conversation before being escorted away by security.

As expected, social media went wild at Jarvo’s return, with many baffled how he had once again managed to give security the slip.

The prankster’s claim to fame has been regularly invading pitches whilst dressed in the uniform of the participating teams, always with his customary ‘Jarvo 69’ name and number.

During the India-England Test series in England in 2021, he stormed the field wearing Indian Test match whites; on this occasion, it was in their standard ODI blue attire.

Jarvis was charged with aggravated trespass in October 2022 for an incident during that series where he collided with England’s Jonny Bairstow while running in to mime a bowling action.
