Wests captain Api Koroisau will miss the Tigers’ clash with the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium, despite coach Benji Marshall initially feeling confident he would play.

The NSW State of Origin representative came off during the second half of the 34-10 loss to Brisbane on Saturday and sat out of training with his back injury four days later.

He did not require scans and returned to training for the captain’s run on Friday.

“He’s gotten better as the week’s gone on. We were a little bit worried at the start of the week about him, but I’m pretty confident he’ll play,” Marshall said on Friday.

The Tigers had a change of heart only hours later, though, and have since brought Jake Simpkin into their 17 as Koroisau’s replacement.

The Bulldogs have named Kurt Mann at lock as they return from the bye. Jacob Preston is a chance if he can prove fitness following his jaw injury in Round 4.

Trent Robinson has ruled Jared Waerea-Hargreaves out of his team’s trip to Brisbane with a calf injury.

It spoils the party for what would have been his 300th appearance in the Tricolours, which will now likely come a week later at home to the Warriors.

“It’s really minor but not good enough to play,” saiod the coach.

“He was going to celebrate his 300 games for the Roosters, which is our highest honour. We savour that and you get a gold Rooster to do that but it won’t be tomorrow night so we will have to save it for another week.”

Winger Daniel Tupou‘s return from a knee injury has been aborted, while Victor Radley will not come back this week from a hamstring complaint.

The Broncos are set to field an almost full strength side after Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo were named in their 17 after recovering from injury.

They will, however, have to wait until the last minute on Payne Haas, who is only recently back from knee surgery and will now face a fitness test. Kotoni Staggs is in a similar boat, also nursing a knee problem and facing a late call.

The Panthers are set to rest Nathan Cleary for Thursday night’s meeting with Souths, just a week after the superstar half’s return from a hamstring injury.

Penrith will not risk their captain on the back of a short turnaround, with Brad Schneider again taking his place. In another reshuffle, Daine Laurie drops off the bench with Jack Cole coming in.

Winger Sunia Turuva returns after he was withdrawn last week following his signing with the Wests Tigers for 2025. Moses Leota is also back on deck.

Souths have also made late changes with Jacob Gagai ruled out on the wing. Isaiah Tass moves one over, Michael Chee Kam comes into the centres and Sean Keppie onto the bench.

Manly have named Daly Cherry-Evans in their line-up for Friday’s meeting with the Raiders and he will play after his successful appeal against the grading of a charge for his part in the lifting tackle that left Haumole Olakau’atu banned for a fortnight.

Ethan Bullemor starts in his stead in the backrow with Tof Sipley onto the bench.

Chevy Stewart and James Schiller have paid the price for Canberra’s 40-0 thrashing from Cronulla, as coach Ricky Stuart wields the axe.

Albert Hopoate returns from his cooking accident to replace rookie fullback Stewart when the undermanned Raiders look to bounce back against Manly on Friday night. Nick Cotric has been called onto the wing in place of Newcastle-bound Schiller, while captain Elliott Whitehead returns from a calf injury to replace Simi Sasagi in the second row.

Pasami Saulo (back) joins Jamal Fogarty, Corey Horsburgh, Zac Hosking and Jordan Rapana in the Raiders’ casualty ward. He is replaced in the 17 by Emre Guler.

Titans coach Des Hasler has rung the changes in his backline despite picking up a first win of the season on Anzac Day, with Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Aaron Schoupp dropped in favour of the returning Philip Sami and Harley Smith-Shields.

Melbourne lost Xavier Coates to a hamstring issue and move Tyran Wishart to the wing with Bronson Garlick taking his bench spot.

Queensland representatives Thomas Flegler (shoulder) and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (hamstring) and England international centre Herbie Farnworth (AC joint) are still unavailable for Saturday night’s away clash with North Queensland, but Felise Kaufusi and Connolly Lemuelu are huge ins for the Phins.

The Cowboys get Heilum Luki back but have an ongoing heavy injury toll in the outside backs that sees Viliame Vailea make a club debut in the centres with Tom Chester and Murray Taulagi both out.

Zac Lomax is back in the centres after Moses Suli‘s concussion in the first minute of the Dragons’ defeat to the Roosters, allowing Mikaele Ravalawa to come back onto the wing. They face the Sharks, who bring back Toby Rudolf in their only change.

Kurt Capewell is back for the Warriors’ trip to Newcastle, who are unchanged from their win over the Dolphins.
