It’s finally here. State of Origin for 2019 kicks off tonight with Queensland hosting the old enemy New South Wales at Suncorp Stadium.
All the talk this year has been about whether the Maroons can stay competitive in the absence of their retired legends – but can they actually go on and win Game 1?
Can they take advantage of a New South Wales side perhaps not sporting an ideal line-up? Can a halves pairing of Daly Cherry-Evans and Cameron Munster target Nathan Cleary and Cody Walker with success?
We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar rugby league expert Tim Gore to check out the keys to Queensland springing a Game 1 upset.
Listen to the debate:

But with the Blues dealing with a fair few form and injury dramas of their own, some experts think the door could be wide open for a surprise Maroons win.
