2023 AFL free agency and trade period: Complete list of all trades and free agency moves

The AFL free agency and trade period has finished for 2023.

Draft picks can still be swapped up until the 2023 AFL draft on November 20, but all player exchanges have taken place.

AFL Trades 2023

James Jordon signed with Sydney as an unrestricted free agent. Melbourne will receive an end of second-round draft pick (currently 39) as compensation.

Matt Flynn signed with West Coast as an unrestricted free agent. GWS will receive an end of second-round draft pick (currently 40) as compensation.

Joel Hamling signed with Sydney as an unrestricted free agent. Fremantle will receive no compensation.

Tom Doedee signed with Brisbane as a restricted free agent. Adelaide will receive an end of first-round draft pick (currently 19) as compensation.

Port Adelaide traded their 2024 first-round pick to Fremantle, in exchange for pick 23 and a 2024 second-round pick.

Gold Coast traded picks 4, 46, 51 and their 2024 third-round pick to the Western Bulldogs, in exchange for picks 10, 17 and a 2024 first-round pick.

Todd Goldstein signed with Essendon as an unrestricted free agent. North Melbourne will receive no compensation.

Ben McKay signed with Essendon as a restricted free agent. North Melbourne will receive a first-round draft pick (currently 3) as compensation.

Melbourne traded James Harmes to the Western Bulldogs, in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick.

Sydney traded Dylan Stephens and pick 25 to North Melbourne, in exchange for pick 44 and a 2024 end of first-round pick.

Gold Coast traded pick 11 to Melbourne, in exchange for picks 14, 27 and 35.

Gold Coast traded Chris Burgess and pick 14 to Adelaide, in exchange for picks 23 and 26.

Gold Coast traded pick 18 to North Melbourne, in exchange for a 2024 end of first-round pick.

Melbourne traded Brodie Grundy to Sydney, in exchange for pick 46 and a 2024 second-round pick.

Collingwood traded Taylor Adams to Sydney, in exchange for pick 33.

Carlton traded Zac Fisher and pick 17 to North Melbourne, in exchange for picks 21 and 25.

Jade Gresham signed with Essendon as a restricted free agent. St Kilda will receive an end of first-round draft pick (currently 21) as compensation.

Brisbane traded Tom Fullarton to Melbourne, in exchange for pick 47.

Hawthorn traded Tyler Brockman to West Coast, in exchange for picks 44 and 63.

Richmond traded Bigoa Nyuon to North Melbourne, in exchange for pick 65.

Fremantle traded Lachie Schultz to Collingwood, in exchange for pick 34 and a 2024 first-round pick.

Fremantle traded Liam Henry and a 2024 fourth-round pick to St Kilda, in exchange for 2024 second-round and fourth-round picks.

Adelaide traded Shane McAdam to Melbourne, in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick.

Carlton, Essendon, St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs completed a four-way player and pick swap. The Blues received a 2024 third-round pick tied to Essendon, a 2024 fourth-round pick tied to the Western Bulldogs and a 2024 fourth-round pick tied to Fremantle; the Bombers received pick 35 and a 2024 fourth-round pick tied to Carlton; the Saints received Paddy Dow, pick 40 and a 2024 third-round pick tied to Carlton; and the Bulldogs received Nick Coffield and picks 52 and 56.

Richmond traded Ivan Soldo and pick 50 to Port Adelaide, in exchange for picks 41 and 49, a 2024 second-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick.

Collingwood traded Jack Ginnivan, pick 39 and 2024 second-round and fourth-round picks to Hawthorn, in exchange for pick 33 and 2024 second-round and third-round picks.

The Western Bulldogs traded Jordon Sweet to Port Adelaide, in exchange for pick 50.

Geelong traded Esava Ratugolea to Port Adelaide, in exchange for picks 25, 76 and 94.

Gold Coast traded Elijah Hollands, pick 28 and a 2024 fourth-round pick to Carlton, in exchange for pick 26 and a 2024 third-round pick tied to Essendon.

Hawthorn traded Jacob Koschitzke to Richmond, in exchange for pick 49.

St Kilda traded Jack Billings to Melbourne, in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick.

Brisbane traded Jack Gunston, picks 47 and 61 and a 2024 second-round pick to Hawthorn, in exchange for Brandon Ryan, picks 39 and 54 and a 2024 fourth-round pick.

Gold Coast traded Mabior Chol and pick 62 to Hawthorn, in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick.

Essendon traded Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, pick 73 and two 2024 fourth-round picks, one tied to Carlton, in exchange for Xavier Duursma.

Essendon traded Massimo D’Ambrosio to Hawthorn, in exchange for pick 61 and a 2024 fourth-round pick tied to Collingwood.
