Two premiership contenders coming off important wins, the Geelong Cats and Collingwood Magpies, launch Round 7 at Optus Stadium in Perth. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).

Both teams face an unusual position as Victorian heavyweights playing in front of a 30,000 strong West Australian crowd. The location benefits the Pies more than their opponents: they’ve got a positive win-loss record at Optus Stadium, compared with the Cats who have never won at the venue.

This clash remains an important one for both squads – more so for Collingwood, who returned to the winner’s list with victory over a hapless Hawthorn last Friday. The result was a much-needed win for Nathan Buckley and his squad after a controversial fortnight. However, Geelong had the more hard-fought win last week, obliterating Brisbane in a third-quarter blitz which secured them the four points.

Both outfits have two inclusions for tonight’s encounter, while simultaneously losing two to injury. Geelong will be without Mitch Duncan and Quinton Narkle. Jack Steven and youngster Jordan Clark are their inclusions.

Magpie Will Kelly, injured on debut last week, will miss the rest of the season with Matthew Scharenberg also out. Jordan De Goey and Josh Daicos return to the side in their places.
