Both are starters in the 15, both are World class in their positions, both can lead and command the respect of their players……the ABs are bloody lucky. I’m just glad I’m not Razor, but Scooter has been groomed for this and is ready for the next challenge. Ardie will continue as an inspirational vice and will full the shoes of captain when called upon.

Cane deserves better. A lot of things were out of his control. Being asked to be captain of any team is an honour and to accept the position means you have to wear the consequences, but you also have to look were the offer is coming from. Cane is a warrior and a good guy. Foster track record as a coach and his chosen assistants were always iffy at best. NZR screwed up, Foster and his assistants totally screwed up, Schmidt n Ryan righted the ship, but was never in total control as they were assistants and poor Cane therefore always had a short straw . That said any captain would have a difficult job. Cane may or may not have been everyone’s pick at captain or 7 , but Foster determined all that very early on. Foster did dealt Cane a poor hand.

Sam Cane is a gentleman of the game……total respect for the man. Hopefully he will be back in NZ coaching and inspiring the next generation.

It’s time to give Dmac a serious go at 10. Razor is new to the job and obviously needs to win games immediately. That said, if the NZ rugby public are willing to be a bit forgiving and they are probably not , they need Razor to experiment. RM and BB are known factors, Dmac may surprise with some serious upside…..risk/ reward…..best time is now.

RA boards have been a failure for close to 25 years. That fact alone tells you something……poor board member selection, poor planning, poor administration. The selection and structure of the board is not working for the good of Oz rugby…..revise the structural head, possibly bring in two or even three board members from outside rugby countries to act as sounding boards eg Ireland, France or NZ , who can also review the boards performance on an annual basis. The boards needs to be held accountable and not a free run at Oz rugby supporters expense.

It’s good to see the Aus teams doing well .Hopefully the fans get behind their respective teams n actually attend matches, get those crowds up. The Super Rugby season has been a great start, the sort of injection we need…….may it continue. RA has wasted so much money and opportunities over the past 2 decades. Rugby is a business and should be treated like a business …..plan , implement and grow . The Administration has been so poor , it is laughable and the biggest losers are the fans of Rugby. The road back will be long…..sigh.

Showing due respect. No bs . I expect the same from Schmidt. That would be such a refreshing change from last year. Really looking forward to the BC test matches. I expect both outfits will be experimenting, but I hope to see some good quality rugby from both teams and with these to quality coaches , I expect no less.

If you were in deep dodo and you need somebody to clean up the crap……you don’t need a loudmouth showman who produces more crap. Schmidt has shown that he can will do the dirty work and remain quietly in the background. He will let the rugby talk, just give the man some time and space.
