It was obvious that Sam head butted Reynolds boots in an attempt to milk a penalty and possibly bend Josh’s spikes… Shame on you Sam .
As for the “trip”… What trip? All I saw was a clean cut young gentleman gallantly throwing his body at an opposing player; Ben Barba. What then took place was a shame to the code; Ben nefariously and purposefully throwing his leg in front of Reynolds path in an orchestrated and premeditated fashion. I am just thankful that Josh was not injured. To think that my children witnessed that lack of sportsman ship by Barba.
It was obvious by this time that the referees were out to nullify Josh’s clean playing style, going so far as to actually announce their intent…”next time we send his off”. In such an environment one would expect that the next tackle by Josh that was not below the waist would be called high; and so it was. And this game was about fairness and sportsmanship once.
It did not end there… once inside the sheds after his unfair dismissal he had to face the prospect of facing a wild and obviously rabid chair. No one knows how it got there, or more likely who set it free knowing that Josh would be binned and all alone… but like others I saw the look in its eyes… eyes of hate and death. Luckily, clean living and an honest nature had honed Josh’s skills for just such a moment. His pre-emptive attack on the chair probably saved his life. Did he rejoice in this victory? No he was obviously distressed and distraught that he had to take its life to save his own… and that sums up the pure and care filled nature of the victimised Josh Reynolds
So to all you haters, unless you have been head butted on the foot, deceived by the foul play of others and unfairly persecuted until you are sent into exile with a ravenous piece of furniture lurking and ready to attack you, and all in the space of an hour; do not sit in judgement.
Poor Josh, just like the Ayatollah Khomeini before him, suffering the vile and unfounded hatred of the unlearned.

I was hearing rumours of 240+ points, which would have him out of origin 2. But yes a challenge would be successful, most likely.

Yer, He was running and looking to offload but no one put up their hands. It is not blaming anyone, it’s just that the loss of Cronk created some dissidence in communication and role execution.
I wonder how long Reynolds will get for that gentle tackle.. grade 3 offence?

I wonder what went through DCE’s head when Cronk selfishly broke his arm… “oh crap.. it’s all on me now”… or maybe “I wish Pearce was still playing”
But in saying that he did well.. Cronk is a hard act to follow

I bleed maroon, but I try to be objective.
If I was speaking to an all QLD crowd I would discuss reasons behind the result, but I am careful not to accidently intone excuses and whinging. NSW won well and deserve praise just as QLD when they are wining. In fact I think QLD were great considering the situation.
It will be interesting to see if DCE can stand up next game; I think he did well as he could under the pressure.
However if we lose the series, it will cost me a fortune in counselling fees

I have not seen that hunger in years… That defence was astounding and we had no answer
I thought a few of the calls were dodgy but it did not effect the game
keep playing like that (and I think they will), the shield is yours.
The only poor performances were JT for us and I thought Gallen was a passenger… oh, and Cronk selfishly breaking his arm.
I will have to watch it again as I missed some as my BP hit 200!

Before our warriors go into battle, let us all pray…….
Oh mighty God
We humble partakers of your glorious creation of State of Origin present our partitions to you;
May you deafen the ears of the refs so that they may not be swayed by the holy gathering of the righteous at Lang Park.
May you give them clear sight and minds so contentious calls will not mar the sanctity of the game, and clog the forums with pain filled blasphemy
If it is your will, may Ray Warren and Phil Gould suffer temporary afflictions of the throat so an impartial ministry of your game is provided for your people through the prophet Sterlo.
May you bestow clear articulation and diction upon your blessed servant Wally Lewis, that his commentary may equate his playing skills.
Lord we ask that you waylay those who wish to distract the gathering through the shame of streaking, but Father we ask that if this is your will, then you will send a womanly form of attractive nature; preferably an Asian/mid 20’s
We ask Lord that your warriors are kept from excessive harm so that they may continue to serve their clubs in a worthy manner, excepting Gallen; may you have mercy on his soul.
In Judges: 15-16 you tell us “with the jawbone of an ass have I struck down a thousand men”, so Father we ask that you protect NSW from Brent Tate and the ample jaw bone you have given him since he is such an asset. Likewise Father you tell us in Ezekiel 3:8-9 “Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead”… blessed be Nate Myles
May you strengthen Josh Reynolds and Trent Hodkinson as they enter this most holy arena; provide them with courage and calm so that they may challenge Queensland in a worthy manner and protect them from persecution if defeated.
Colossians 3:8 tells us “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips”. May Paul Gallen repent and submit to your precepts or endure purgatory for ten minutes.
Litany for NSW: Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you”.
Litany for QLD: Luke 10:19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.”
Father, comfort the followers of defeated clan, encourage objectivity, lessen the moaning and blaming. Likewise, provide humbleness and grace to the victors, unless it be NSW who are deserving of some excess given your provision of an 8 year lesson in humility.
To the great and perfect referee in heaven, we submit these pleas. All power, majesty and glory to the most exulted Lord God, creator and governor of State of Origin
And all the people said….AMEN!

Not that bold. Just because he is less worse doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve the rank. That’s is like saying because Gallen hasn’t pulled someone’s stiches out in years he’s a good sport. But I agree… you could fill 20 spots on the quick.
My list may change after Wednesday night!
