Wright: 4 weeks
Greene: 1 week

“Blah blah, the outcomes weren’t the same…” The outcome isn’t what’s on trial. The action is.

Golden-boy Greene, largely unscathed for the umpteenth time.

The AFL's Tribunal system is an overcomplicated mess designed to create drama - it needs a radical overhaul, fast

Has happened countless times before. Being on the right side of the ledger (arguably less than on the wrong side) is something every fan enjoys a little bit. There will be shjt sandwiches for everyone, this one just wasn’t ours this time.

Footy Fix: Ferocious, fast and fantastically coached - stuff the controversy, let's give the Dons the respect they deserve

Would you like an honourary membership to the “scroo’d over by umpires countless times” club? We hold meetings every couple of rounds.

'Very challenging one': AFL back ump's 'correct approach' in last-gasp non-HTB controversy... but admit free was there

The free may have been there, and plenty of times it has been with jumpers reversed. Everyone knows the whistle doesn’t usually work in the dying seconds.
The W is all that matters.

Tex can blame himself for the crude challenge. Not diving on Sam may have altered the result, who knows.

Have lost plenty thanks to contentious unpaids. Nice to be on the other side of the ledger for once. That’s footy.

While Eddie’s defence of Wright can go jump (it’s just him reinforcing his Maynard position) if you aren’t allowed to mark on your chest any more I weep for the future of the league. That is exactly what a collision between two players with their eyes on the ball looks like. 1 or 2 games, maybe. 4? Pull the other one.

'Inherently dangerous action': Tribunal verdict IN as Wright, King learn fate for controversial incidents

What? Aloof, arrogant Westerners? How long has this been happening?! 😂

Pies claim thrilling 16th flag after CLASSIC grand final... but Lions rue 'ridiculous' late call that scuppered last chance

Well put. Eerily, it’s only supporters of clubs that sprung from the loins of older clubs that are bleating. Maybe they need to find a new code.

How convenient!

Funny how it’s always patrons of the also-rans who try and rewrite the fact that without any one of the big three, the league would have been toast long before its change of socks 😁

But whatever you do, don’t accidentally (and non-concussively, I might add) contact someones head with your forearm while you’re attempting to punch the ball. That can iron you out for weeks.

COMMENT: The Tribunal are right - Brayden Maynard's act wasn't illegal... but from now on, it should be

The Dunkley episode is indeed one of the games ugliest blights. If he’s lucky, Maynard will escape the same fate of being viewed as a disgusting thug in nearly 30 years time.

Maynard FREED: Pie cleared of rough conduct charge after marathon Tribunal hearing

And yet Martin isn’t allowed to make an entirely non-concussive play at the ball. How delightfully convenient.

Maynard FREED: Pie cleared of rough conduct charge after marathon Tribunal hearing

“…shoulder…” Thanks for reiterating what Maynard put into the contact. Running at a player, attempting to smother and then claiming it was surprising that the player was there? Maynard must think the tribunal is a special kind of stupid.

TOM MORRIS: Inside the AFL's call to overrule MRO on Maynard - and how Tribunal verdict will shape the game

“Could you have done x?”
“No”
“How about y?”
“No”

Does this guy want the ban hammer or what?

TOM MORRIS: Inside the AFL's call to overrule MRO on Maynard - and how Tribunal verdict will shape the game

Terrible timing Maynard, just when everyone is talking about it again. A simple legitimate late tackle would have meant a free kick at worst. Take several seats boy.

UPDATE: Maynard sent straight to Tribunal over Brayshaw collision as AFL steps in

It wasn’t. Hence no ban.

Six Points: Meet your new flag favourites, the finals sleeping Giants, and why Sheezel still shouldn't win Rising Star

Very true… they do freeze and slow these things.

Good to see there was no ban.

Weitering should have absolutely nothing to worry about. A fine at worst. In real time, it’s a player gripping another to pull him off his team mate. Greene, in comparison, actively clawed someone’s face repeatedly and got a fine. Go figure.

And camera-wise, we have been calling for upgrades for years. Ultra high res and high frame rate cameras trained and focused on the posts from the front of the 1st or 2nd tier isn’t difficult. I’d be happy to arrange a quote.

Only just catching on about the tackle scam? This has been happening all season.

And as far as the Bombers logo… not even on the radar for 99% of the public, and even less of the membership cares. We want results and consistency, not change for the sake of it.

“…the desperate need to resort to YouTube…” only serves to reinforce my first point. Thanks.

Why does anyone look at anything from the past? Sometimes it’s to draw inspiration, sometimes it’s to be reminded of mistakes. If you block what the past can teach you, you’ll end up with a game where it’s okay to fall over for free kicks, and where boos from would-be tough guys are held in the same regard as physical blows.

Oh wait, we’re already there. Enjoy.

Thanks for missing the point entirely, zoomers. Nothing wrong with tradition or reminding the faithful of what pillars of the league their clubs are.

If these kids took the time to go back and watch some GF replays they’d see some truly great games…

Pies supporter much?

The AFL must do more to protect Jack Ginnivan

Anyone could see that there was no racial element at the core of that farce. Now, whether toothless bigots choose to twist the incident to suit their predjudices is another matter, but flooding them with oxygen only fuels the insolence.
