Wow, amazing work Sleiman!

Ready to go: Lebanon close to rugby league renaissance

Australia’s performance in the 2013 World Cup Final was a close to technical perfection as any side will ever play. Whilst Australia have begun to lose their cohesiveness the past year, you could contribute that to age of players/ and injuries at the time.

The true pinnacle of rugby league

This is such a good idea! International rivalry much more exciting than Qld v Nsw.

The true pinnacle of rugby league

Rugby League is doooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed article #547.
The game is in good health. Your arguments on the shoulder charge are muddled, are you unhappy on the rule, or on the interpretation?
Gambling advertising takes place in nearly every major sport, its an issue for State/Federal government. All a bit hyperbolic really.

With the grand final around the corner, the NRL is in poor shape

Watching from “Mexico” 😉

Also have the radio stream going Up the Knights!

Australia have lost their opening game in either the Tri Nations or Four Nations only once, that was in 2005. So, no this has not happened “many times before’.
Also if Australia are always worked up for big games, what does that say about their defeats in the finals of 2005, 2008 and 2010?

Roos hope to conjure 2009 spirit

What a fantastic weekend of rugby across both Four Nations tournaments! Whilst I was backing England on Saturday, Samoa, as they did against New Zealand during the World Cup, showed why they should be considered the 4th best team in the world. With some quality halves, I think they may have been able to have beaten England, and may even give the weakened Australian team a push.

I agree that New Zealand must be favourites now. Playing on their home turf and with Isaac Luke to return, they will be very tough to beat.

I suppose the question we are all wondering is whether England can finally end decades of failure and knock Australia out of a international tournament for the first time since 1954. Bring on Sunday!

2014 Four Nations: Talking points from Week 1

Great article, there really is a lot of growth and action right now in International league.

Just as a note, France have made two World Cup finals. They were runners up in 1954 and 1968. They also hosted a World Cup in 1972.

2014 international rugby league overview

I think New Zealand and England are huge chances. Yet as we saw last year in the World Cup, England and New Zealand must play a 80 minute game. England were all over Australia during the opening game, yet when Australia lifted a gear before half-time, they blew England away.

It cant be stated how important a strong showing by both England and New Zealand is for perception of the tournament. A New Zealand win over Australia would set up an almighty clash for England and Australia in the second week.

The Four Nations is England’s to lose

As well as a possible Four Nations victory to either nation, England will be able to promote the match as a ‘Round Two’ to last years RLWC Semi. Could have an extremely successful test series.

Oh, and aren’t New Zealand playing a few games against the French next year when they are there?

International rugby league could rise from the Ashes

Good concepts and ideas, but will echo comments made above in that bringing back ‘Great Britain’ or creating a ‘Pacific Islands’ team ins’t the best avenue to advance international league. Even though the Pacific teams, individually may struggle to compete with the ‘Big 3’, the experience they get from those matches is better when played on a nation v nation level. I do however like the idea that if they did play as a ‘Pacific Islands’ team, money generated would flow back to the individual nations.

Another note, the NRL/Super League seasons would need shortening to play out two months of international league, right?

International rugby league could rise from the Ashes

A champion player who single handily carried our team for the 09/10 even 2011 seasons. Although once Boyd arrived and a run of injuries Gidley has essentially been left without a position to play. A contract for a club in the ESL would be best for Kurt.

In the interests of the Knights, Kurt Gidley should step down

What if we had our version of the Magic Weekend split between QLD and NSW?
Could see Suncorp hosting the three QLD teams plus NZ on a Friday and then Sydney playing the remaining games out of ANZ on Saturday/Sunday. QLD would have the capacity to sell out its games pretty easily, and with the right ticket prices get 90,000 at ANZ for the six other games.

NRL should replicate Super League's 'Magic Weekend'
