elsey is rubbish, i would love him to move onto greener pastures.

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

lol those under 17/20 wins mean nothing given the amount of money they pump into there game since its inception. They should be embarrassed with their lack of success in over a 100 years

i know what you mean kangas…. alosi’s, borello, lazaridis, veart, agostino, vidmars off the top of my head that have graced the leagues you mentioned. Plus the many more that ive missed, very good turn out with our population size. Just goes to show you how talented the players are in south australia.

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

the have paid the price for wasting 6 figures on average visa players, when that money should be spend on there talented youth. Do they even have talented youth?

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

you’re joking about shotton right? i seem to remember a 16 year old running circles around him. The only player who is salvageable from victory isnt even there player (Dylan Ryan). Thats a player you can build your team around and he has great re sale value and is also australian

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

i ask myself that every week when i see sydney still persisting with mid 30s OAPS. I see bobo scored, you might be alright this season after all relying on 34+ players to get points for you lol

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

they have the 2nd biggest population in australia, you expect them to have the biggest if not 2nd biggest crowd at home every week. The fact the supporters have deserted them shows you that the majority of there fans are plastic. Support you team whether they’re first or bottom in rain or heat

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

i never said i hated “the english way”, my whole argument is australian players/coaches shouldnt look to emulate itt. They should be doing opposite that! There is a reason why we dont have an abundance of good technical players in all age groups in this country and that starts with sub par uk type training drills/tactics/coaching etc.

its is a concern when teams like thailand, vietnam, saudi arabia etc have more technical players then we do

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

not a shot at anyone of english background. My point ties into the youth set up in australia. Are you telling me our kids arent better then a butterfield/mcmanamand/dorrans/mutch/ziggy/aldred/gillesphy,odonovan etc etc? It is a waste of a visa spot on these types of players, a visa player is meant to improve a team. Not run, tackle pass side ways. Most under 10s sides in this country can already do that. They are stealing a wage of the next gen socceroo player.

same as coaching eg victory. brebner/keane partnership is one of the reasons theyre bottom. They coach them like a lower league side. There are plenty of better young australian coaches in npl level.

Theres a reason besides financially in europe why a lot of english teens are leaving england and doing so well. The level of coaches and tactics is so much more sophisticated then in england. For a country that prides itself on being the forefathers of footaball there results at international level in all age groups is awful.

australian players/coaches need an identity, following the uk is not the way to go

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

They’re all plastic fans, like most people that support “elite clubs”

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

Rubbish UK players and coaching set up. So’s muscat, poppas or kewell

Grant Brebner faces uncertain future

They messed up by not investing in youth, their kids are crap. Typical elite club mentality but players and not build them from the youth team. Hopefully Sydney join them in the duldrums in the coming seasons.

Also please stop buying lower league UK players and coaching, they are rubbish. Australia needs to get away from anything British in the a league. All the British players are rubbish same as the coaching

How do Melbourne Victory save themselves from ruin?

Wenzel halls is not good enough for Australia. The player Australia need to tie down is Deni Juric before he chooses Croatia

The next Socceroos golden generation

pretty sure mariners conceded 3 in adelaide 😛

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

so basically what you’re saying is we’ve scored more goals from less shots than you?
and we’ve conceded more goals because were allowing more shots on target compared to you.

One of the best attacks in the league against one of the tighest defences (who struggle to score goals)
This will be your first interstate non eastern states game right?

do you still feel so confident when you look at our inclusions of players returning from injury this
week to the matchday squad? (juric/a toure/strain/jakobsen)

im actually altering my prediction, i thnk this will be a comfortable win by at least 2 goals rather
then the 1 i had earily suggested. I dont know who from newcastle will score the 1 or 2 goals required
to win away from home. This will also be your first interstate non eastern states game, right?

I like your positivity, but unless we give you the goals like we’ve done with the majority that we’ve
conceded this year; i dont think you’ve got any hope.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

look at you trying to justify our results, well done Huddo.

I know you’re a big fast and furious fan so ill quote one of your favourite lines “It Doesn’t Matter
if You Win By an Inch or a Mile”

Once we win tommorow and then the game in hand after you play (and if results go our way),
we’ll be 3 points off top spot with players coming back from injury and our 2nd visa player due to
arrive in the coming days. The team everybody in the eastern states wrote off at the start of the year,
is an actual title contender. Who would’ve guessed that? 🙂

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

HahahaHaha long standing adelaide bias ???????? some of you guys crack me up

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

You’ve chosen the wrong word then lol, because the only team out of those 2 with any form
of momentum is us (currently tied for 1st in the win streak column with a few other teams on
2 wins in a row). Soon to be 3 wins a row in the next 24 hours

Newcastle may have had momentum, but that was gone last week, when they lost lol. They’re now sliding
down the table to rightfully inherit the spoon. When you’re averaging less than a goal a game theres
only 1 way the team is going. It doesnt matter how tight your defence is, If you can’t score goals;
you’re in massive trouble.

They’ve done a lot better then most people anticipated (me included) but that squad is just not good
enough. They could go 2nd bottom this week (results dependent) There’s no relegation, they may as
well start playing the kids. I would love to see yengi get more game (he got some last match) i was
disappointed to lose him, but we have such a plethora of attacking talent (and we have the better brother)
we couldnt keep him

A yuel and yengi partnership could be interesting

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

“The Jets are gaining momentum” – they lost last match? the only momentum they are getting is of the downward variety towards there wooden spoon

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

ADL 1 vs 0 NEW – Newcastle i dont think will offer much going forward and will sit back. This
should be a much needed clean sheet for the home team, either a low scoring 1-0 or high scoring 3-0.
A win will give us the best home record currently and entrench us in the top 4 battle (depending on
other results this round) also, with a game in hand on the top 2. How much longer can adelaide fly
under the radar for, before being recognised as a genuine threat?

BRI 0 vs 0 SYD- two misfiring forward lines; will the roar stop being long ball merchants? will
corica blow up at officials during the match for a call he believes is wrong? Lots of different
narratives for the state of origin match. However i’ve got a feeling the 2 most measly defences in the
league will counter each other out. More questions for corica after yet another match without a win.
(2 games in hand, so not a crisis yet, right?)

MVC 2 vs 3 MCY- derby is always spicy, victory should give a good account of themselves and
score a couple, however i predicted city would go on a run and they currently are (sydney, wanderers)
and victory will be the next victims. Jamie Mac with a couple more goals in this match. Brebners days
are numbered

WEL 1 vs 1 PER – perth will be smarting after that shock loss against the mariners. Wellington
picked up a surprising win last round. Perth have got games in hand, so i think exiting nsw with a point
will be a good result for them.

WUN 3 vs 1 WSW – wanderers seem to be on the slide currently, there dysfunctional forward line is really
hurting them in matches. Thuggery united are hitting some form and about to start a run of wins. Berisha
to jag a couple in this match.

CCM 0 vs 0 MAC- the two big over achievers so far this season, a draw would be a great result for the
chasing pack as most of them have at least 1 game in hand over the mariners and bulls.

SYD 0 vs 1 WUN – Surely sydney will come good and be more clinical soon? unfortunately for them
the victorian teams are hitting a purple patch of form (except for victory) thuggery united with a late
snatch and grab raid to take all 3 points. Corica to blow up after the game with some poor decisions
that go against sydney in the match. I think he’s under a lot more pressure then is known; with there
unusually poor start to the season (1 game in hand now, crisis time yet?)

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 11

You’re talking about a club you know nothing about, that’s like me saying I know what matt simon gets paid to score more than 10 goals in a season; I haven’t got a clue as its not my club!
Goodwin as stated is a loan player, club will subsidise his wages, but again whatever figure you think it is, it’s nowhere near it. I’m assuming you’re estimating high 6 figures? Wrong again
Sydney was never in the hunt for Juric, no a league clubs were seriously in the hunt for him. that’s what you’re not understanding. We had a completely free run to get him and he’s not on marquee wages, nowhere near whatever figure you’re implying it to be. 1 million plus I’d presume?
Lopez’s wage is less than Isaias who was 28 when we bought him, (considering that was around $400k at the time for a player several years his junior, what do you think lopez is realistically on?)
We are nowhere near the salary cap, for you to even suggest that is ludicrous. We haven’t been anywhere near it for years

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

played a below bar perth, (perth had there chances as well) lost against us. They’ve still gotta go to
brissy, plus the scheduling has been very kind to them all season (like all the NSW teams). Look at the
glut of home matches in there next several fixtures as well. The a leagues cinderella team will
eventually lose their slipper and then people will see how average a team they are. That is essentially
the same squad as well as coach as last season where they collected their customary wooden spoon with
the least amount of goals scored and most conceded.

what’s changed so dramatically that their an over night success all of a sudden?

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

last time i commented on his coaching of the matildas, it led to many of my posts not showing up.

Stajcic is an average coach he should’ve been sacked at the end of last season for languishing at the bottom. there is no club in world football that would stick with a coach for finishing bottom, but that’s the a league way; reward mediocrity) if there was promotion/relegation the mariners would’ve been down many years ago and i dont think they would’ve come back up either.

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

we’ve already beat them in 2 halves this season lol. I doubt any other team will also score 3 past them in a match at HBF this season either

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

i saw your post on the perth thread before it was taken down, it gave me a good chuckle.
i think you had a little bit too much moscato, there’s much bigger things going on in the world that
you should be focusing on rather than me. But thanks again for the shout out, meant a lot 🙂

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

I didn’t say Smith is bad, he would benefit with an experienced left back to push him though
