because both clubs have always been run by chequebook managers, never until this year have you had to put faith in youth.

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

goodwin, juric, halloran, a toure, m toure, yengi/pacifique

ikonomidis, fornaroli, keogh, d’agostino, armiento, castro

nabbout, maclaren, noone, luna, metcalfe, Tilio

I dont even think this debate is close as to which is the a legues best front 6 on paper. (Especially
when you factor in age and re sell abillity). City arent even in the conversation for best attack,
if jamie mac doesnt fire, their attack is blunt. Adelaide and perth have by far the best attacks
on paper

one of the problems is keeping a toure fit, hes become very injury prone and might never fulfill
his potential due to this. Mo toure is better coming off the bench, hes still growing in terms of height
and muscle. Dont worry though, you’ll see 15 year old Musa Toure before the seasons out as well.

deni’s a great player, but very happy with tomi. This is the leanest he’s been in years, would rather
him have more touches in and around the box but due to our midfield dilemm (which will be solved when
Juande touches down) hes getting touches too deep to effect the game

like it or not, we’re a selling club (i have no issue with this). We’ve got the best young attackers
in this country who we will make a nice profit off in the next couple years. Dom Costanzo is next off
the product line, followed closely by a 15 year old Musa Toure before the year is out

marrone unforunately is on the outer, great servant for the club and doesnt deserve to be treated
how he is; but business is business.

abatew is being playing out of position, he is a natural CB. Play him in his preferred spot and watch
him flourish. Dukuly has been a bit overawed by the big stage, i still believe he is the best
african australian player in his age group; but you have to play him as an attacking midfielder
not a winger.

kitto needs to go back to left back, because smith is nowhere near capable of playing week in week
out at his age

had no option but to sell/release players to keep the club in the black, especially during covid times.
We work with a small budget compared to most eastern states teams (exception being mariners, newcastle
and brisbane recently) every year and i have no issue being classed as a selling club, because lets
face it the a league is a selling league.

We cant compete financially, so we have to produce homegrown. The recent FA report shows which
state has the most home grown a league players per capita. If we actually had money, we might not
be number one in that category

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

lol big spenders haha, you do make me laught

do you actually know how many players in our squad are under the age of 20? more then any other club
in the league. Dont you think if we actually spent big, we wouldnt have so many kids?
goodwins on loan, so thats next to nothing.

Jurics is not on a marquee contract, hes not on anything remotely close to a marquee contract.
Theres a reason most a league clubs past on him in the offseason. Besides his poor record goal
scoring record (hes never been prolific) hes consistenyly getting soft tissue injuries

Lopez & the incoming Juande arent on big dollar contracts either. You seem to have this misconception
that we actually spent decent money, when you know zero about the club. You’re not living up to your
username

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

big spending? lol we lost 13 players from last years squad (the most out of any a league club), we
also have the least amount of visa players out of any club this season. I’d say we’d go very close to
challenging central coast and newcastle for the least amount of money spent. People don’t realize
how tight our budget is, why do you think we have the youngest squad average in the league (23) prior to the 2 latest arrivals, because we have minimal money

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

good player, he’ll end up changing allegiances to croatia though

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

your posts always give me a chuckle in regards to adelaide, you always pick them each week to lose by multiple goals like most uninformed eastern staters (based off a couple of horrid away games)

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

optimistic not pessimistic Franko, we are going to come good. Injured players are on there way back and NSW teams are starting to travel. We’ve got a good run of fixtures upcoming (unless covid strikes again and then the scheduling can continue to favour nsw teams)

No more excuses - it’s time to talk about the A-League ladder

The NSW teams arent travelling interstate on a weekly basis, once that happens the ladder will
get turned upside down.

Mariners are massively over achieving, now that they have started travelling; losses will start
piling up (another loss this round against perth away). They will miss the 6 much like an over
achieving brisbane, who still havent fixed there issues in the final third that they had last year.
Theyve scored more goals that i expected of them so far this season, but as you’ve seen in the last
few weeks, once the goals dry up they have struggled.

bulls have got alot more points then i expected. That is an old old old team, they have only dominated
one team for 45 minutes (that was us away) media and eastern staters have talked that squad and milicic
to no end (both are massively over rated). Like brisbane they have scored a lot more goals then i
antipicated, inparticular derbyshire (who must have a record already for most tap ins by a visa player
from several games). They will also slide down the table when they start travelling interstate
frequently.

As much as i am loving sydneys struggles currently as well as citys, they will both make the
6 (city are going to go on a run now, mark my words). Thuggery united have got too many goals in them
to miss the 6, wanderers have got the squad on paper to make the 6, but there finishing is killing them
(would love to see them miss it though, for all thier off season shenanigans). I have seen nothing to
alter my initial pre season picks for top 6.

The real elephant in the room is adelaide, keep on writing us off eastern staters! We will shake the
finals up! 4 first XI players are currently injured, due to this we’re not playing our preferred
formation, players are being played in there not preferred positions due to this and there are players
who shouldn’t even be playing a league (calleti). Luckily we can look forward to calleti regularily
not featuring as Juande is about to sign which completely fixes our midfield issues as we now have
(Juande, Lopez, D’Ariggo & Mauk; which looks like a formidible a league level midfield able to control
the pace of a match) We’ve scored 3 goals away in perth, 3 goals away against a nsw team (not many
teams are going to do that this season) the goals are going to start flying in now (we’ll give perth a
challenge as the top scorers).

Our attacking 6 is the best front 6 on paper in the league (goodwin, juric, halloran, a toure, m toure,
yengi/pacifique) if you think its not, you are crazy. Only perth has an attack as good as that on paper
in the league. I would even go as far to say we have the best under 20 attacking group of players in the
league, we still havent even played the likes of Dom Costanzo who lit up the NPL last year. If only we actually
had some decent CB’s coming through the system, seems to be only attackers these days.

As i said at the start of the year, keep writing us off eastern staters. I dont think we’ll win this
season, but we will 100% have a say who does and i am fully expecting at least semi finals for this
team. It legitimately stuns me that people arent picking us for the 6, but i actually love it as well;
as it makes it even more sweeter seeing the know it all big headed eastern staters fail in there
predictions

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

Excuses excuses excuses. Doesn’t matter if you live 20 mins or 2 hours away. Buy a membership if you cant make it, give it t your family or friends to use if you can’t be there one week

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

Kick that knowledge Rodger, we are the blueprint for the a league! Especially in these covid times

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

that’s one ground that I will never visit, couldn’t pay me enough to be around those vuvuzela sounds, I mean cowbells

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

I’m talking state numbers not major cities

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

Good for you Jordan, you’re a real fan! If only there were more like you in qld

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

The different is QLD is more then triple our population and more then 2.5x perths, the issue has
never been with the smaller states; its the larger ones where ‘fans’ dont turn up.

glory has done better than expected so far. I wouldn’t say its that surprising though; they were always going
to score goals with that forward line; but its been the younger players that have been impressing.
I was bitterly dissapointed to lose armiento, used to love watching him swing in balls with that left
foot in training. Its well known that we were always going to lose him to victory when kurz went;
but even in training you could see the talent there; he just needed game time which we couldn’t give him
with the amount of young attackers currently going through the club

perth are an injury or 2 away and they will drop down the table very fast (lots of O.A.Ps in that
team; keogh/fornaroli/kilkenny/castro etc) they’ve been lucky with injuries so far.

Hot Glory cash in on rich goalscoring run

brisbane are long ball merchants, that’s not going to change anytime soon lol

Hot Glory cash in on rich goalscoring run

one of the most arrogant managers in the league, i am absolutely loving seeing sydney suffering this season after there many years of getting calls go there way.

Corica fumes as Bulls beat ten-man Sydney

same problem as sydney (its the problem that the ‘big clubs’ have) they put all there eggs in the
trying to win championships basket which means buying experienced pros; that they neglect bringing
through youth players. Covid has started levelling the playing field because these big clubs (sydney/
city/victory) are struggling with under performing O.A.Ps and barely any decent youth

Amazing A-League must bring fans back into stadiums

one of the a leagues problems has been crowds with the eastern states, populations in the multi
millions and for arguments sake; qld still struggled to get over 10,000 to matchs at suncorp.
QLD possibly might be the biggest issue in terms of crowds for the a league. Yes its a massive state
and its rugby dominated, but they should’ve still had comfortably 20,000-30,000 each match week in
qld.

the local federation and powers that be; really need to get to the root of the problem with why people
wont attend matches in qld. I dont want to hear all the usual ‘too expensive, ‘too far away’ nonsense
either. If you’re a fan, go support your team; get bums on seats!!
