Peter, Wright is a better player now – period – but they are both Rocks and Diamonds players they fail under pressure.

'Triple threat' Donaldson leads Force to massive win over Drua to keep Super Rugby finals hopes alive

Beale always looks good against average opposition and fails against good opposition under pressure. He’s well and truly past his use by date for test Rugby end of story.

It was only a matter of time that the 20 min Red card would be introduced. When Refs dish our Red focused on the outcome head to head or shoulder to head when big bodies come together at pace when neither player had malicious intent. In Rugby this can happen when the required reaction time is milliseconds, this is a common sense approach. I would see this as common sense when there are mitigating circumstances ie. Attacking player ducking/going low at last-minute and/or the defending player going low but sliding up after the collision. Red cards wreck games – period. It can also lead to attacking sides aiming to get a defender sent off by using changes in body height at the last minute in a cynical way.

Scrums banned from free-kicks, 20-min red cards and shotclocks: World Rugby tries to speed up the game

They are a protected species like Queensland for good reason. They are the nurseries of all Rugby Talent in Australia pilfered by outside Super Rugby Franchises .

He’s been misused at test level. The buy-in is a Reds back row combination that is perfectly balanced.

Five things: The Reds have flipped the script - and it promises to be rewarded at the Wallabies selection table

That’s the nature of those comps – to there’s no international competition. But we need to keep international competition if we want to be internationally competitive.

And they still are supported less thank any AFL team in Melbourne. The AFL vortex sucks up any successful league or union presence in Melbourne.

The game becomes marketable if Australian teams are consistently winning en masse. At the beginning of Super Rugby in 1996 to early 2000s it was and so was the WB team.

Because they have bought a heap of players they could not or afford and were never developed by them. They were given a leg up when they started always spent more than they could and the results were never forthcoming. The remainders off the season has them playing teams they can expect to lose to and will not see them in their current position

Sounds like a suggestion for NRC. I like it but it’s a lot of cost in terms of flights, accommodation with a country as sparse as Australia. May be the option is to bolster local comps with the non-WB super Rugby for their respective local club competitions reflected by the franchises and part of the development path (ie. Shute Shield, Hospitals Cup. Canber comp, Perth Comp). Devrlop the strength of the local comps

Jacko, It’s nice to think we could field 5 competitive teams but financial reality and actual results say no. We once had 3 teams and as a result were very competitive across all 3 teams. 5 teams has given more players exposure but muddied the selections ensuring we never pick our best WB side. I like the option of having us go back to 4 teams at this point but allow WB eligibility to any Aussie playing in the Super Rugby Pacific comp. RA need to reduce costs by saving on propping up one Aussie side that will not be competitive. Rugby in Victoria faces and uphill battle ever gaining significant support. The Rebels grab most of their players from other clubs ( mainly Qld & NSW) rather than development of their own. In addition, if Melbourne Storm’s NRL success over so many seasons does not allow any more support than all AFL sides in Melbourne what hope does Rugby ever have rstablishing a foothold. Rugby Australia needs Super Rugby success and we will never have it with 5 teams.

Murdoch would do anything to disrupt Super Rugby as he has with coverage of Rugby limited to bad stories. Any good news Aussie Rugby story is never going to get extended coverage under his watch.
All thanks to the parting of ways from Fox Sports to Stan – sour grapes on his side but good move by RA.

Reds snap 25-year drought in Christchurch to beat Crusaders as Wilson, Ryan star

Sky NZ would be owned by news limited isn’t it. They we ould cut it short for that reason.

The 1st warning ead specific repeated ndescretions at the breakdown. The 2nd warning ead for an unrelated indiscretion. Creighton’s high tackle had mediation for jumping up on a high bouncing ball.

Well I just wish Suli was not the replacement – his defence – what defence – gave crusaders a sniff. He is just a liability that can go back to the NRL

Any club in the league would be eligible – the trick would be to ensure their competition ran to a different time period to Super Pacific, to enable the two top finishes each season were eligible for Super Rugby Pacific. Considerable planning would be required.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

I think a couple of Japan sides with a Japanese relegation system from their top league could work rather than another sunwolves to replace the rebels. A change for WB eligibility so that if U are playing in any Super Pacific team you are eligible for WBs would work. This would reduce the RA admin costs of running 5 franchises down to 4 but allow for enough Players playing at the higher level.

Let alone a bench spot

MD, I believe Fraser should be back for the Saders game. With all the suspensions and injuries the Reds have had particularly since the Moana game, I am pleasantly surprised how well they have done and also unearthing new gems like Tim Ryan, and John Bryant. This is a sign of the good coaching by Les Kiss and his team.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Obscure rules used to disadvantage the Reds it seems. The game was played at Suncorp but the ref countered it very well – lol. The coaches need pre-match discussions with Refs to ensure they can reduce infringements by their teams.

It would be a false dawn as his defence overwhelms the odd try

Sul’s just never delivered in defence. Plain and simple. There is no room for a player at this level to have no idea whether he is trying or not.

PK, Moana was a stitch up by a truly incompetent if not biased Ref. For whatever reason, the Force has been a bogie side for the Reds.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

I don’t understand how refs can allow fowards lingering around at the breakdown on the attacking teams side. Blues did it all match last night. Blues managed to take our players near but not involved in cleanouts, paving a way for their attack. This practice needs to be stopped.

Suli, like most league wingers, leaves the winger he should be marking and goes for the inside runner allowing an overlap and not trusting the cover defence. This has led to about half a dozen tries against the Reds this year including one last night. Expect opposition sides to run at him more after last night’s effort if he is I still being selected.
