“The article I read this morning I think I have probably read about 10 times over the last decade…” Therein lies the problem, 10 years of RA being run into the ground by ex-Rugby players making business decisions and business people making rugby decisions.

'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout

I dare say… I think that the Blues would have beaten the Brumbies by a few more had White been there. He does not cope well with a retreating pack or dominant forward opposition. Agree with the other reply, I would rather see Ryan face a few difficult matches like these and grow and I think he will become a great half-back.

Brumbies to welcome back Wallabies duo for 'Canes clash after week of soul-searching, Tahs to tweak side for Chiefs

I really hope we don’t lose him to another code but he does need some kind of change I think. I reckon he would really benefit from a season or 2 in Japan, it could do his game and his confidence a world of good. Then come back to the Reds possibly in better shape…

'It's disappointing': Petaia's Super season over - and it could end his Reds career

Great win not only for Waratahs but Australian rugby.

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

I have to admit, it is hard to watch a “festival” of rugby when the stands are empty. Oh and I really think the last paragraph about the commentary is spot on….

Super Round is a celebration of rugby - that's why it should have never been held in Melbourne

I attended the Boks vs Ireland game in Paris. We walked back to the hotel after getting off the metro a bit early since it was so full and I could not stand the Irish singing anymore 😁

We had a very tense walk back from the station, getting followed by a guy on a moped (preferred transport for snatch and grab) and other dodgy characters scoping us out.

Loved Paris but definitely felt unsafe at times…

I do not think it had anything to do with Rennie’s coaching skills that he got overlooked, but more to do with an imperfect succession system at NZRU (look at how they appointed Robertson). Even back then, in my opinion, it was pretty obvious that it would be very difficult to get into the queue ahead of Robertson with the amount of public (and player support amongst the Crusaders who are AB’s) … I also think Rennie is “too nice” to have aggressively campaigned for the All Black job, but I could be wrong…

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Yeah totally got that, just thought it was funny that you were describing a coach RA sacked not more than a year ago 😁

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Just as ridiculous: How could RA and Hamish himself expect franchises to sign a central contract with RA while he stays in charge?

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Not 100% true… Kids do in fact play rugby union in Australia and that is the tragedy: a national team and management structure that is a failure and actually driving them away from the sport.

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Jones had a zoom meeting, it is so obvious that he did. In this final interview on 9: When asked “did a zoom meeting happen?” His answer was “I have no offer from anyone”. He basically admitted to the zoom meeting… At no point does he emphatically reply “No”. He had the meeting, did not have the guts to admit it and nobody should cut him any slack…

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

It’s believed Jones will walk away from his hefty contract without a payout. He insisted he had no other international role to go to, including the Japan position which has yet to be filled. When asked “did a zoom meeting happen?” His answer was “I have no offer from anyone”. He basically admitted to the zoom meeting…

You need a confident man without the ego to grow the Wallabies and the game in general, you should not just look at Australian candidates but all options available.
I think you have just described Dave Rennie…

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Can someone tell Waugh that going after league players and then offering them big contracts to come to union is NOT fiscally responsible.
Getting rid of Hamish is fiscally responsible, so is consolidating corporate positions and getting rid of under performing members who don’t even follow the code.

These guys just don’t realise that there is now zero trust or confidence in them. Even if you think you’re the right person for the job, sometimes you need to go anyway, to regain people to trust your institution again. Who in their right mind would sign their franchise to a centralised model after what’s happened the past 8 months? “You guys can write what you like I don’t care”, shows the narcissist and arrogant tone deaf non-leader that he is.

If you’re a professional player, no matter what sport, just stay off social media. You’ll save yourself and everyone around you so much trouble…

RWC News: Rassie reveals vile death threat to Boks star and son, Owens' verdict on BOK calls, why ABs can't hug Dan Carter

I was at the Bok vs Ireland game and I can tell you Sexton was constantly talking to the referee, non stop. I’m not sure if it was a new habit of his or maybe I only noticed it because I wasn’t watching the game on TV… As for the French, I disliked their constant verbal engaging with the referee (while ball is in play) throughout all of their WC games and i think it got to the point of distracting them from playing the game.
It could well be that after the pool games, the referees, whether consciously or not, decided to not be influenced by players on the field, since any decision now carries more weight than earlier in the tournament, I.e. they were well aware any incorrect call could send a team unfairly home… I thought the refereeing in both the Ireland and France games was very very brave and so the 2 teams who spoke to the ref less (maybe with the exception of Aaron Smith) won and so are still in the WC…

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

If Eddie quits to go to Japan, ARU owes him nothing in terms of $, yes? Does Japan pay ARU for the remainder of his contract?

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

I’ve read on a few sites that Pollard could probably still get fit but it sounds like his calf injury has not recovered. He is training and will travel to Europe… Here’s hoping, there is no better goal kicker in the Bok squad…

'Not ideal': Springboks name injured skipper for RWC but backline stars miss out as coach names FOUR halfbacks

This is huge. Boks suddenly looking really vulnerable. 3 of the best players out and Kolisi not 100% fit. I agree with other comments here, we might not even make it out our pool.

'Not ideal': Springboks name injured skipper for RWC but backline stars miss out as coach names FOUR halfbacks

Perhaps another symptom of the missing tier needed between club and Super Rugby in Australia?

RWC News: England star 'devastated and blindsided' by axe, Hansen compares ABs to 2019 squad, Tah's Samoa call up

Yep, I hate picking on a single player and White has been a great servant of the game (apart from his soccer antics) but can’t help but agree with this article. Apart from his kicking, White seems to have become one if those half backs that forget it’s their responsibility to get the ball out of the scrum ASAP when they are going backwards. Many times, when the WB pack were getting pushed off the ball, off their own scrum, the ball would be there for a split second under the nr 8, all he had to do is pick it up. It’s clear the plan was to keep it in scrum and try win penalty or whatever but what happens is the WB pack is about to get demolished but he does not have the awareness to go to plan B and rather get the ball out and improvise. Said this elsewhere , I think this is due to being so used to playing behind a dominant Brumbies pack…

Why Nic White can’t be on the plane to France

Yep, Lonergan over White, there is no doubt after today

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

If there is one obvious take away from the last 4 games: I would not take Nick White to the WC, he goes well enough for the brumbies, but just cannot fire for the Wallabies anymore, probably due to playing behind a pack under pressure. Lonergan is the obvious choice along with Tate.

'If I could bet, I would': Jones '100 percent' confident Wallabies will win World Cup

Totally agree, very good comparison!
