Nice read Matt,
I really hope this is a tight contest with a nail biter finish, then us as fans of the game will all be winners, plus of course a close/hard match will do well for setting up both the ABs and WBs for a solid Rugby Championship campaign ahead…best of luck to both teams.

Dead rubber be buggered! It's kill or be killed in Bledisloe III

Let me put it this way…remember the classic George Greagan on Jeff Wilson try saving tackle…I can see A.Smith or TJ making that same try saver in the corner but for some reason I just can’t picture Webber pulling something like that off…I hope he does it tomorrow and makes me look like a clown…

Armtwister I hear what your saying, and don’t disagree but for mine Webber is a nice like for like but he ain’t Smith, sure he can distribute quick ball but I don’t always see his ability to manipulate the forwards where he wants them like Aaron does, don’t get me wrong Brad Webber is a brilliant scrum half and I’m happy we have him there but I just feel TJ has the same with a touch more mongrel and is defensively sound 98% of the time…it’s not a case of reacting to them but more a preparedness, the WBs have a penchant lately to flood the inside channel even after a line break when it’s not necessary, I feel that’s something they’ve tried to bring to table more of late (it could be Rennie’s influence) and I just like the thought of TJ being there for that reason alone…plus it helps to try nullify Tate who like it or not is a definite threat.

The flip side of that argument is if the Wallabies can wrangle a win tomorrow, it will be a confidence boosting spring board into TRC regardless of the previous two games.
I guess it goes both ways.

'We want to back Noah': Every word Rennie said on Quade, Fainga’a, Kerevi and Tate calls

Couldn’t be happier for Dylan Alcott, not only a champion tennis player but an absolutely champion bloke also.

Exactly Jimbob, alot of Seibold’s criticism in the NRL was that his approach was a little TOO structured and clinical and once the Bronco’s started losing games then the players weren’t buying into his strategy’s as much.
Somehow I don’t think that will be a problem with England, if anything his (so called) rigid and over analytical approach should translate well.

Hunk, I can see shades of Connor Murray in Tate’s game which might be a bit of a stretch, but the threat of his sniping runs from the base of a ruck has got to be respected it terms of defensive decisions…that’s where I would’ve liked to see TJ start for that reason alone,he’s a committed defender who also doesn’t shy away from getting himself over top of the ball in a ruck and I feel he would be watching Tate like a hawk bring Webber off the bench to sturdy the ship after Perinara has worn Tate down a bit…having said all of that, I do like the way Tate McDermott plays coming from a healthy competition perspective.

Agreed Bill, nothing Tate McDermott does is easy, but me makes it look that way.

I must admit, I’m still dumbfounded as to why Hooper would elect to kick for touch straight after the yellow card was issued as opposed to choosing to pack a scrum with an extra man and having that solid mid-field set piece to jump from, obviously the ABs could still match the numbers in the line out without Savea on the paddock where as the scrum would’ve been ever so slightly skewed in the WBs favour.
It’s these types of calls when under fatigue that the ABs rarely get wrong.

Game management masterclass: The 20 minutes that secured the Bledisloe

100% agree Richie, great players don’t just walk out onto the field great from day one, they develop and grow into the role as I think Noah is starting too…
Not to mention the high pressure role he has in the team against arguably one of the best teams in the world, I have no doubt he’ll be an absolute weapon by the next world cup and these are the games that will sharpen/battle harden his skills.
The old cliche…there’s no substitute for experience, and although Quade Cooper has that experience and I would’ve liked to see him on the paddock or at least on the bench, shouldn’t the focus be on the future, not just this game…my humble opinion anyway

Tate McDermott has been a revelation, I’m hopeful he can have another blinder tomorrow…I’m an All Blacks supporter but can definitely appreciate how good of a player he is and how he has an ability to get the Wallabies on the front foot.

The biggest hurdle here is that the best grass roots players are more often than not poached by other codes before the SR franchises get a look in, something needs to change and a sprinkling of kiwi players wouldn’t hurt the Australian game as long as there wasn’t too many as to hinder pathways for the select few that actually want to stay the rugby union course.
Also, who in all honesty remembers world cup runners up?
Coming close is good and all, but is that really what we want to see going forward?

The provincial poach: How Australia could start filling their Super Rugby sides today

Personally I believe Noah has the makings of a future great number 10, he might be going through a baptism of fire at the moment but will be better off for it in years to come.
He’s a promising young lad who definitely has the skillset needed for the highest level, he has a great kicking game although some kick choices can be questionable at times, he’s exceptional from the kicking tee and his running game is improving with each test match.
If I had to choose something, I’d say some of his defensive decisions could be better, but they’re not what I would call poor by any stretch of the imagination.
Dave Rennie can obviously see his potential to stick with him and I must say I’m glad he has.
