Membership just topped last years’ this morning!
True power in football belongs to the fans
Agree Az, the crowds throughout the huge losing streak last year and the period of success seemed to be relatively similar.

I don’t think Sturridge has an ego issue at all. He seems rather grounded to me (albeit his celebration).
Balotelli: Is Rodgers signing Jekyll or Hyde?
The best thing about the Balotelli signing is that he will grab media attention. Although he may act up from time to time his flamboyance allows Sturridge to just go about his business under the radar.

Agree with Rogic, I’m still not convinced by Amini though.
Mustafa Amini: Australia's ignored rising star
I disagree with your Everton point. Come January they will be higher placed than United.
EPL opening weekend: 10 things we learned
I agree. The latest Sydney derby could convert any non-football fan.
Five reasons to love the EPL
Despite Southampton’s decent display – a point was probably deserved, we will probably see more overpaid signings similar to that of Shane Long (bear in mind he’s a childhood hero). Don’t get me wrong he’s a brilliant player – but not worth 12 million pound.
EPL Round 1: Winners and losers
How much game time do you think Taggart will get with fulham signing McCormack??
People try to put us down, but this is the Socceroos' new golden generation
The rumours on Shaqiri have quietened down a bit. I’m not sure if Rodgers is still interested.
Yaya’s a no-go if Arsenal want to be champions
WInter comp would be ideal, as it wouldn’t need to compete with European leagues as well as the A-League. Only NPL team I could name would be South Melbourne. I think the ‘NPL National’ would need extensive funding from the FFA, as well as SBS coverage that could hopefully generate more interest – in the meantime I think we let the FFA Cup run for a few years so that a few of the lower-level clubs become more recognisable and marketable.
Is the A-League ready for promotion and relegation?
@AZ_RBB I agree mate, strongest NPL teams from their states should make up the second league.
Is the A-League ready for promotion and relegation?
@Fussball I reckon 2019/20 is a pretty reasonable estimate. If a new area that would be ripe for an expansion were to have a team introduced (after the new relegation system is introduced), say Wollongong if it isn’t already in the league by then. Do you think the FFA force it to Win the B-League/NPL Championship or whatever, or would they introduce the team to the A-League proper?

When Fuss loses an argument he loses bad. Fuss you have to stop this ridiculous branch of rhetoric which turns away many football lovers from genuine discussion and debate.
When you realise you’ve lost the argument you disregard logic and clamber for any evidence which may be slightly dubious – even if it is reliable. Attacking legitimate statistics is by no means a rational form of argument.
Scott lives in Sweden.
Fuss has ‘mates’ there.

I’m starting to get tired of Schwarzer’s wonderful acting…

Although Franjic did make one poor mistake, I thought he played brilliantly to get balls behind the high-sitting Chilean Fullbacks and keep the overlap quiet. Leckie was phenomenal. Cahill stood up, as per. Halloran backed himself in one-v-one’s which was a great sign for me. The defence played very well in my opinion – Spiranovic is so underated. Davidson played classily and McGowan held his own after being subbed on. there any news on Franjic guys?? Not sure what to take from Oar’s performance – perhaps leaves a spot for Taggart in the side. Halloran played well though, still form is form – so start Taggart!!!!
Chile 3-1 Socceroos: Five moments that mattered
@tommaso
Did you watch the end to Sunderland’s season? The supposed disparity of skill level between them and their opponents led many to assume they weren’t ‘good enough’ to survive. But just look at their end of season results.
They should have beaten City for the second time, and would have if not for a Mannone mistake. They beat United (again) and they beat Chelsea – with a 4-0 Cardiff Victory in between. They beat Everton once and lost the other due to an o.g. Point of the matter is that a team with players that fight can beat anyone. Sunderland quite literally played their best football against the top sides. Good luck roos.
How the Socceroos can solve a problem like Group B
You forget that the Villa signing comes with the CFG investment, thus the building of academies and so on… Without doubt he will build the appeal for the A-League, in the meantime hopefully he can convert Melbourne ‘Eurosnobs’.

AZ, are you referring to the Cbus stadium (for gold coast)?? What major work would it need? To be honest, I think Australia would have to spend a relatively little amount of money in comparison to other nations.
I'm so glad Australia lost the 2022 World Cup bid
