A Sydneysider that has just relocated to Singapore after 8 years in London. Ardent fan of the English Premier League, and will have a slight bias when writing on Manchester United. Also, have a healthy opinion and knowledge on many other sports.

The only positive for United fans on the Fellaini move, is hopefully it keeps Cleverly out of the starting line up.

Moyes must be bold to earn Manchester gold

that’s 2 more than last week I think. Actually for some reason I thought el clasico was this week.

Liverpool, Man U: the greatest football rivalry

Cleverly is not good enough to demand a starting spot at United. Kagawa needs a run and can really play.

Derbies everywhere this Sunday. Bring on the black coffee on Monday morning…

Liverpool, Man U: the greatest football rivalry

Always a battle, regardless of Liverpool’s lack of consistent challenge for the League.
Think it falls being the Manchester Derby and Chelsea these days in terms of importance for the league, however importance to the United faithful it still is very much in line with the Derby.

Also like the fact that there was an article written on Liverpool v United that didn’t mention the SAF ‘perch’ comment….

Liverpool, Man U: the greatest football rivalry

Hope Hellas stay in Serie A.
If you havent read ‘A season in Verona’ by Tim Parks, do yourself a favour and get a hold of it. One of the best sports reads I have picked up.

Favourites start positively but AC Milan lose plot

If he can get Adebeyor off the books then he really is a magician.
Looks like he could be the new Winston Bogarde

Daniel Levy: the smartest man in football

Good Article and very true. Spurs have basically strengthened the side across the board and all done with what will be the cost of one (albiet a very good) player.

Bale is excellent, but 94 million plus Coentrao?

Getting that over the line highlights Levy’s abilities…

Daniel Levy: the smartest man in football

Agree with Cleverly. Hasnt shown much at all for mine. Yet like Welbeck, everyone raves about him.

New manager, same old Manchester United

United will be there or thereabouts. I do not think anyone doubts that.

The main factor that cannot be gauged as at today, is how much of a factor SAF was in getting the side over the line in tough matches and always finishing the season strongly. Time will tell.

Agreed that the current inherited squad won the league by 11 points, but honestly without RVPs extraordinary contribution and Carrick havuing a career best season controlling the midfield, the side would have really struggled.

How Moyes plays the side is also important.

SAF loved his wide men, will Moyes do the same ? As you stated, Nani, Young and Valencia added little last season. Zaha looks very promising yet raw. Nani hopefully can fulfill the potential all know he possesses. All talk is about a creative goalscoring midfielder in the centre of the park. Its a hole in the squad that is still there.

Kagawa although hampered by injury needs to play in the hole where he impressed in Germany. This however seems to be where one Mr Rooney was being shifted to? Maybe 2 up front? I don’t know.

The defence has enough there to be comfortable even with injuries. A Baines would add more than a Buttner for mine.

One last point. Welbeck is dire. Not good enough for United. Cleverly shows glimpses, however hasn’t shown any consistency. He looks better when he plays with Anderson.. who never plays.

Chelsea look strong and if they get a forward that can score 20+ goals in the League, they will be tough to beat.

Interesting times ahead.
Personally, as a United fan, I hope United silence everyone early on after the tough start to the fixture list. Then bring on title 21.

New manager, same old Manchester United

Terry Fearnley wouldn’t be happy with that. I rate him better than D Aylight as assistant.

I

The all-time greatest NSW State of Origin team

My Question is – Who is the Coach of these sides? aka best NSW coach of all time

Gould for mine.

The all-time greatest NSW State of Origin team

A true Manly great. A second rower being the clubs all time leading try scorer says it all.
Always on the back pages rather than the front. Something some of today’s players should try and emulate.

'Beaver' Menzies bows out in style

Agreed. Nothing worse than the same old hum drum from people in interviews.
Of course we do have Mr J Barton that is also not of the HR / Media cloth. Some iof his ranting, whilst thoroughly entertaining, are better left unsaid.

This is why Crystal Palace's Ian Holloway is a comic genius

You are correct. There are plenty of other bauties around.

He really is quality. Also has done very well getting Palace up.

This is why Crystal Palace's Ian Holloway is a comic genius

Agreed. Type of club which is everyone’s second favourite team.

Holloway does play good football. Wish them the best

QPR could well be looking for a quality keeper as Cesar is going.
Move there would tick all boxes including regular playing time.

Alas, what is done is done.

Chelsea deal a win for both Schwarzer and Socceroos

Totally agree Nachos

Chelsea GK Coach – Christophe Lollichon – Goalkeeper coach

‘Christophe joined Chelsea in November 2007 from Rennes, where he had previously worked with Petr Cech’

This added to nachos stats of amount of games Cech has played in this time, shows something dramatic may need to happen before MS gets game time.

Chelsea deal a win for both Schwarzer and Socceroos

BOOM!

Chelsea deal a win for both Schwarzer and Socceroos

Am not sure about this move at all from a World Cup perspective.

Turnbull and Hilario started 8 games between them last season out of 73 Chelsea played. If Schwarzer doesnt play games then he should in no way be considered as the first choice number 1 for Brazil.

However, it is Jose now managing Chelsea and just ask Iker Casilles whether there is ever a guaranteed starting spot anywhere.

It could well be Petr Cech is more concerned about this move than we and Osieck are.

Chelsea deal a win for both Schwarzer and Socceroos

Interesting.

It is all happy families again now that Jose is back.

Mr Abramhovic has made a significant difference in the EPL, there is no doubt. Premierships, Champions League, FA Cups, all since his arrival. Success is trophies.

Wish there was a paragraph on the Roman one’s tyrannical ways of chopping managers at will. It wasn’t long ago people were screaming blue murder (no pun intended) on his axing of RDM, AVB and even Jose himself.

Time will tell. Am almost happy to have Jose back.

Chelsea FC: ten years in the sun

Clearly all will be watching closely and it isnt the easiest of starts.

Little early to understand what the side will look like and how Moyes will play.

Will Rooney stay? Can Moyes get more out of Kagawa if he is injury free?

Who else is to come in?

Need a central midfielder and Cleverly isn’t it.

Valencia was woeful all season. Nani is on his way out with Anderson following.

Vidic needs to stay fit. Evra needs to be challenged (Baines).

Oustide of RVP, Carrick, DDG, Rafael, Rooney (provided he stays) it really is hard to tell who will be first chosen in their position.

Times they are a changing. Preseason may offer some insight, however until then. Who knows?

Will not be easy though, that is for certain.

Moyes to start United life in the deep end

Why should it be difficult signing anyone proven. You did the same with Adebayor and even though could be considered unsuccessful it made sense.
I think Benteke is a real option.
You should be looking at a Michu as well.

Can Tottenham challenge the top four again?

Agree with Dave. Bale cannot be replaced.
Levy will find it very difficult to turned down 80+ Million GBP if offered.
Spurs need to make a decision early and spend wisely.
All players mentioned in the rumopur pages are from outside the premiership. Think spurs need to look at spending on players that have proved themselves already. Benteke in to replace ‘Open the door get on the floor, everyone sing Adebayor’ would be good business.

Can Tottenham challenge the top four again?

And Ranieri thought he missed the boat when he was sacked after only one season on the Ogliarch gravy train that is Chelsea…

AS Monaco prepares to conquer Europe

I think the comment is fair. Ronaldo whilst was scoring 118 in 244 games whilst in England ( a great strike rate) scoring has been at will in La Liga. I do not think the middle to bottom clubs are as strong as other leagues.

Fact that he only ever scord a single hat trick for United in his 6 season and he scores them at will shows at least the standard of defended is poor as well as some of the lower tabled teams.
