It will be a generational change, like most inclusive ideals.
Sorting out our relationship with indigenous Australians should come way and above worrying about sorting out immigrants to this country.
Oz day is just a day to me and I’d love it to be moved to a date that the original occupants can get behind.
It’s only my view of coarse, happy to disagree

'Choose a better date': Cummins wants Australia Day moved as CA chief sledged for 'bizarre' trainwreck interview

Thanks Harry,
Another great piece.

Nobody Goes For Pints with Joe: 'Cult-like figure' with an 'exhausting' style who might just restore pride to a rabble

Keeping it simple and slowly building would be a great start

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

Great appointment in the circumstances RA placed itself.
I’d be happy if he pulled the Wallabies game back a step or two and got them competing again.
For all our sakes, especially the players.

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

What a disgraceful waste of a World Cup, everyone involved in knifing DR and falling for EJ’s BS should be sacked immediately.
I am beyond appalled.
RA screwed a good man who was doing a great job with obviously limited resources.
Unfortunately rugby in this country is a joke.
How much more are supporters going to take, I know I’ve just about had my fill.

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

Thanks Geoff for your contributions to this site

The Wrap: Wallabies are on their way home - can they please take the TMOs with them?

Not sacking EJ is definitely not the way forward.
I can handle the team losing, I can’t handle the way EJ treats people, he’s a poor advocate for the sport.
Anyone who was involved in getting rid of Dave Rennie so they could install the second coming of EJ needs to resign.
They’ve lost me until they change the coach and the board.
I really enjoyed supporting the Matildas this year so I’m not lost for national teams to follow.

The Wallabies' World Cup campaign was a disaster from start to finish - but sacking Eddie Jones isn't the answer

Enjoyed the article Geoff, thanks.

I have a deep affection for France and the French, particularly when they’re being French.
If Oz rugby fans were French they’d be a few cars torched and a riot down at RA headquarters.
Luckily that’s not the case.
I’m 52, played the game from age 5 to 30 and love it dearly, I’ve watched the Wallabies live – lose way more times than I’ve seen them win and I actually don’t mind.
I don’t expect them to win, but I do expect the players that represent our country be given every chance to succeed, the train wreck of hiring EJ was always going to play out like this and I feel for the players in what should be the pinnacle of their careers.
What I won’t stand for is to have our national coach treat journalists and the public like mugs, it’s incredibly disrespectful.
I’ve banged on about EJ before, we need someone like our women’s football coach, always listens to questions and answers them as fully as he can.
Treats everyone with respect.
If RA want to get old fans back like myself they need to start with respect and honesty, the wins will come and go.

Parkes life: 'Mate, the name’s Shag and I’m here to help save Australian rugby'

I think the Boks will win this one by more than 10, I actually think they’ll do a real job on the Irish.
It’s going to be a great game and I’m really looking foreword to it.

'Two global heavyweights eyeing each other' - who will prevail in Pool B glamour bout between Boks and Ireland?

Fair call mate, I thought he had been given a long enough run to show he could manage the national 10 role, he is a sound kicker off the T and you’ve made me think he should be given more time, though I tend to think he is too conservative.
Geez – he’s gotta be better than Donno though.
He was pretty good against the Frenchies a few years ago.
Actually at this point I’d be happy for a pick and stick mentality for our 10 and for Kellaway at 15.

Exclusive: Wallabies set for fly-half switch in do-or-die World Cup Test against Wales

Well played Drew, I heard the spray on the podcast and your frustration and emotion was clear to hear.
I thought to myself at the time – that it was about bloody time that someone in the media said exactly what they were thinking.
EJ needs to be held to account

'F---ing explain some of these decisions': Ex-Wallaby star's scathing Eddie critique, coach defends vision

Fair call mate.
Walking a mile in someone else’s shoes would be good for a lot of the western world.

The Wrap: Group C fast becoming everyone’s favourite - except for the Wallabies as early flight home looms large

Geez, I wouldn’t mind seeing rugby coaches – coaching the Wallabies.
It’s a gong show under EJ, no surprise there I guess.

The horror five minutes that put Wallabies' World Cup on life support as Eddie's huge 10 call falls flat

Succinct as always Ken

The horror five minutes that put Wallabies' World Cup on life support as Eddie's huge 10 call falls flat

No sweat mate, though if EJ was your coach, you’d have a point.

REACTION: 'Failing upwards' - Pelters for Foz after new all-time low, Ardie says 'we've still got a war to win'

Kiwi’s,
You can’t blame the coach as you have a settled, experienced and very skilful side.

Coaches set game plans, those plans can be changed by senior players during the game.

I believe that this loss is on the players and not the coaching staff.

Your team seemed to be out muscled in the forwards and outplayed in the backs – massive kudos to the Frenchies for that.
Ozzie’s know how hard that is to do.

The All Blacks will regroup and will go deep in the tournament, I’m not sure they’ll beat SA or France but they have everyone else covered.

Can France play better ?
I know the All Blacks can.

REACTION: 'Failing upwards' - Pelters for Foz after new all-time low, Ardie says 'we've still got a war to win'

She’d be getting on now too, it’s probably time to leave her alone.

'We didn't want to show too much': Is Eddie bluffing in a high stakes game of rugby poker?

EJ doesn’t mind using a cattle prod on his players (by his own admission), but doesn’t like taking a hit himself.
I don’t blame EJ – a scorpion is always a scorpion , I do blame the moron that thought it would be a good idea to hire him though.
EJ’s behaviour is beyond ordinary and he’s an embarrassment.
What a shame the lads are heading into an event they would have been looking forward to and working towards for quite some time and they are being coached by a muppet, I sure would not appreciate being represented by this man.

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

Ken, someone has already thanked you for eloquently articulating how they felt, I too appreciate your ability to state the bleeding obvious with style and thought.

I can’t help but think that there are a lot of 48 plus years old rugby supporters thinking to themselves that they can’t believe EJ got the keys to our team again.

He’s taking the pi$& with his selections and hyperbole.

I can’t believe you wouldn’t give Carter a mentor like QC, I also can’t believe you would take Donaldson (I’m a Waratahs supporter) to the WC.
So many selection issues including captain.

It was easy to get behind Dave and the lads, easy to get behind the girls and Tony playing football.
I’ll be keenly supporting the lads, but not RA or EJ.

Go the Wallabies

Revealed: Foley still in World Cup mix after Australia A call up, Cooper pulls pin as Hooper ruled out

Thanks Ken, I feel your angst.
How the hell they let EJ anywhere near the Wallabies again defies belief.
His player management skills are still low rung

Revealed: Foley still in World Cup mix after Australia A call up, Cooper pulls pin as Hooper ruled out

I’m a long suffering Waratahs and Wallabies supporter.
How good is it to have a national team not only winning but doing it with conviction, confidence and style

The Great Vine: Cortnee fires Matildas through to first ever semi-final after epic shootout win over France

If she’s fit I’d bring her on at half time, I can’t see this game going 0-0, I think the score will probably be 3-2, hopefully our way.
Our team look cohesive, so we don’t need to start her and I’d like her around if it goes to penalties.
Whoever takes the pitch – go girls, enjoy the experience.
Come on Matilda’s !

Be smart, Gustavsson - there is simply no need to start Sam Kerr tonight

That’s a hell of a broom that EJ pushed.
After listening to the informative podcast interview with Ben Darwin yesterday (listen to it, if you haven’t), he’ll need to keep this group together for a couple of years to turn around our results.
I’m happy if he picks and sticks, there are some really good young players in this group, but if it’s not too much to ask – can we sign and develop rugby players moving forward and leave the league players alone.

Shock and raw: New skipper, rookies galore and Test careers brutally ended as Eddie's RWC bombshells CONFIRMED

EJ loves his League wingers, I’d rather he picked players with rugby smarts, other than that, it’s a good squad.
We won’t win, nor should they be expected to, but they will place some teams under pressure for a while.
Who ever is picked, go well and have a great trip.
I can’t get behind Eddie the snake oil salesman, but I can get behind the team.
Enjoy fellas

Exclusive: Quade, Hooper to miss World Cup selection as Jorgensen rockets into squad

Nothing to do with EJ’s heritage or anyone else’s for that matter.
As an Australian I want a professional, thoughtful and insightful coach leading my national team.
Eddie is intelligent, he’s also thin skinned, belligerent and has little time for answering difficult questions.
Our previous national rugby coach was more astute and also more willing to answer difficult questions.
More than happy to support the Wallabies and the Matilda’s, obviously I’m not going to support EJ
