All these comments about the Boks being underdogs… I remember the game after the 0-57 loss to the All Blacks in 2017…I think it was a tie. There was no gameplan for those Boks, but the showing of pure aggresiveness, physicality in the contact made the game worth seeing. If you think the ABs were smashed at contact at the semi then search for that match.
Also as a rugby spectator I enjoy the so called “negative” rugby from the SBs, that defence is poetry, the way they squeeze teams to death… man, that is also rugby, the tricks at the formations, the breakdown, the maul.
Rugby is not about the pretty boys runnin the show.

From Uruguay… GO BOKKE!!!

World Rugby has handed the Springboks a big favour

It smells they are heading into an ambush…all Bonnie and Clyde style

Eddie hatches plan to unravel the Boks

This suits Boks, always play better with more fire when they are underdogs

Top of the Boks: South Africa join England in World Cup Final

It seems to me that Rassie keeps a couple of tricks under his sleeve. England vs South Africa these recent times has been really even.
Also I remember how SA troubled England injecting pace, the ABs pack never gained ascendancy in order to release their backs last week, they were caught back foot and that easied the Kamikaze Kids work.

Now that Rassie has met his objective there is nothing to loose and that is what makes next weekend contest so interesting. Both coaches know each other and both have tricks covered.

For next weekend:

– Keep and eye on Englands back three and SA front row
– Kolbe will probably start (I hoped for a switch to Fullback with Nkosi at 14, but Nkosi positioning on defence allowed a couple of chances to the Welsh)
– How SA applies pressure to Ben Youngs and England on Willie.
– Pollard running lines
– Tuilagi left shoulder
– Refeering at the maul

Shock Uruguay win something to savour but Fiji’s dudding by the draw leaves sour taste

Hi pal, look I am Uruguayan. The Charrua stadium was abandoned when leased to Unión de Rugby del Uruguay (U.R.U). Still the URU pays rent for the stadium. These blokes rebuilded it by babysteps to be a modern training facility. Every Rugby player registered in Uruguay has to pay a moderate fee to keep the venue in good shape and also a part of the players salaries.
Private companies have made investments due to a solid bussiness model, based on long term sustainability based on club support and centralized contracts, the amount is not that much due to low crowds in our rugby.
Thats why URU and South America Rugby is also in talks with pro football clubs from round here to setup a franchise model to have a transamerican pro club competition.
I want to note that when I tore my knee ligaments and dislocated my shoulder I could rehab in the Charrua facility, with a very low cost (almost zero) and I was attended by the same doctors and fisios that work with Los Teros and you saw on the field. Rugby is like that in Uruguay.
Anyway, I wanted to note that “Investments” were not that big as it may sound. Its been 9 years since we began the process to keep/convert Lost Teros as a professional team. The main thing has been a common vision and lots of hard work and diplomacy.
I hope Fiji can sort their off field issues in order to make them competititive with the big dogs, but it really isnt a money issue its more about management.
I hope I dont sound arrogant, but this team has made me proud to tears and I do want to make justice to their process.

Best of Lucks pal!
