my point is many NPL teams across australia are more than capable of
hitting those numbers in these covid times. (Preston did 3500+ in vic lower league).
it’s a massively embarrassing look for a league clubs, getting beaten by NPL teams in terms of
attendances.

yes the product is entertaining (unless you follow macarthur and brisbane) why hasnt
that translated to people in seats? Its a worry when Adealaide is leading the league
in weekly attendance (i would normally expect us to be around 4th or 5th in the) our crowds
are down to, but to be leading the league in attendance shows you what sort of fans we
have at the club

I would be absolutely devastated if i was the CEO of certain a league clubs. People are
disregarding crowd figures way too easy. Everyone seems to think once were all immunised the
league will get back to 10,000+ averages. If we cant do it now, what makes you think we will do
it when were clear of covid? (and thats assuming we get clear of it and it doesnt mutate into a
different strain etc etc) – Crowds are the third biggest concern in my book (behind broadcaster
and sponsorship)

as for licenses; another nsw and victorian team were not needed in the league just yet.
everyone saying macarthurs ‘catchment area’ will boom, it will in about 10 years’ time
when gentrification hits that catchment area. Western united sold the league lies, i have real
doubts if their stadium will be ever actually built

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

exclude the east coast bias, scheduling, young players rants and you will see
my posts are littered with substance, many don’t even pay attention. (Much like the FA report that nobody is willing to address around here because its awful reading for qld/vic/nsw football)

i’ve been on about markovic at victory for weeks, now he’s gone and its another
blunder by a clueless victory

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

didnt try hard enough, he could’ve easily dislodged either CB currently playing for them
and he also can play as a LB where id much rather him then traore. There is also nishikawa
than can play left back as well. Victory are going to lose all the kids they have (they dont have many anyway, but those 3; correction 2 defenders have potential)

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

crowds have always been important, anyone that says they’re not are a liar. As for the 2 clubs you mentioned, they never should’ve been in the running to be a league clubs for years. this is why you dont let you broadcaster have any say in new clubs, hope the FA learn there lesson with the new broadcasters who ever they are

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

if anyone actually pays attention to my posts, i have made multiple references about
victory playing the kids in defence (bello/markovic/nishikawa) because they have nothing to lose
and they need to give them a run of games to see if theyre good enough

I see markovic has left the club and gone to tactical fouling united. This is the reason why
victroy have no idea as a club; markovic is homegrown and is a player they can/could build there
new look defence around. This will be a decision that will hurt them

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

again if you wish to quote me, quote me correctly. I never said they had the worst team on paper. i said they would finish 9th and will fail due to brexit coaching/players and longball. Seems like a pretty good prediction so far

McDonald mystery as Roar bounce back

how’s that ‘famed’ brisbane academy going for you? is it 5 players under the age of 20 that have played for you guys this season? (not including the visa japanese player) that’s a poor return for such a traditionally big club. Thats why QLD is bottom of the FA report for professional homegrown players

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

too many plastic fans who dont come out when there team loses or its too coldhot; that’s why, i was there in the rain on saturday night with my beanie. Robbie cornflakes was standing a couple meters away from me . one of my work colleagues said he mentioned a guy wearing a beanie on the broadcast, had to have been me as there was no one else in his vicinity in a beanie lol

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

that’s why we’re at the top of the FA report, while the east coast is lagging

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

yes, its mostly been entertaining but then you’ve got teams who are that boring to watch
(macarthur, brisbane).

dont get me started on scheduling bias either or teams who won’t play kids.

People can use the covid excuse for crowd issues all they want, it’s a cop out. Each club should
be doing better! it’s a worry when adelaide is averaging the best home crowd this year (beating sydney
by about 50 fans) yes, we always average decent crowds, but never should we be number 1 in that
category.

Even if you look at the womens game, we had over 5000 (breaking the w league record) attend a
match for a side that’s never ever made the finals. There are massive issues with football on the
east coast, this is all backed up by the latest FA report that i continually mention on here.
East coast fans need to start turning up and supporting their teams.

adelaide city played campbelltown here yesterday in the NPL they had over 2000 fans turn up.
macarthur, western united and the league should be ashamed. Another sydney/melbourne team
was not needed. Even wellington playing out of wollongong (who are bidding for a license) barely
get 2000 people, it is seriously embarrassing when NPL clubs are getting more fans to attend
then some aleague matches

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

Never was going to happen, they’re situated in a poor part of sydney, maybe in 10 years they might be a decent choice

Preston Lions roar loud and proud under prime-time lights

You’re right, once gentrification hits the area so in another 10-15 years that’s when they shoukdve entered

Preston Lions roar loud and proud under prime-time lights

Well well well look who the leader is, shame on all the other states!! They should be embarrassed with themselves that such a small club is leading

Preston Lions roar loud and proud under prime-time lights

Why would they get 6k for? They play dross and they’re in an area that won’t have growth for years. Horrible choice by foxtel and the ex fa boss, they club should never even exist

Preston Lions roar loud and proud under prime-time lights

It just goes to prove the div 2 would work, some of these ethnic based npl clubs would draw that easily. Macarthur is an embarrassing club

Preston Lions roar loud and proud under prime-time lights

Moons in over his head, Brisbane need to get rid of him asap

McDonald mystery as Roar bounce back

wanderers will definitely score, we’re more than likely going to have to play “Mr Schalke” at
centreback, every time hes been on the field this season he has been directly responsible for a
goal being conceded. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be the culprit again on saturday lol, but we should
have enough firepower at home to take care of the wanderers still.

you’re missing the point like most east coast fans are

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

bresciano, carrozzi, nikou, duggan would be the people in question. I would even add johnston to the list. Majority of the board is very pro east caost

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

Lionhearts fine, he just wants to have a more philosophical/logical conversation
and not engage in what he believes is back and forth tom foolery. Its a prediction thread, so
i’d be expecting to see all sort of random wacky comments.

it kind of turned into a rigged scheduling thread (but i didnt start it, franko did lol)

you need to put yourself in a brisbane fans position; you’d upset to seeing your team playing
the longball style they do, (there days of playing attractive football are a relic of the past)
it would be hard to support a team that is so mindlessly insipid on the pitch that cares
more about keeping goals out then actually trying to score goals.

then you factor into it the FA report about how qld is the worst performing state in terms
of professional players playing the sport per capita. They cant even get excited about the kids
because they only play, when the overpriced waste of space visa players are injured/suspended.

they used to be a big club, but came crashing down to earth. They will have there day in the sun
again and be successful, just not until the direction of the club moves away from the brexit journey
they’re on

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

mariners fans are more then welcome to join the interstate alliance again east coast powerhouses, you have been on the end of many dastardly decisions by “big brother” over the years

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

your boys better pull though this week for 2 reasons. i have money on them and to stop the thugs charge lol

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

there are people within the FA who have always wanted adelaide to fail; you know why? its all
about thos big east coast $$$$$$$$

They are worried that we have the most professional homegrown players per capita compared to the
rest of the country and deeply ashamed that powerhouse states like vic/syd/qld fail to produce
as many players given there huge populations.

they are worried that we have the best attackers and goalkeepers in the 15-21 age group range in
this country, they actively encourage other a league clubs to poach all our kids, to keep
adelaide down; the problem with that is we just keep producing quality. Our youth teams forward
line looks scary scary scary this season; first match on the weeked, ill see you there.

they dont want little david to beat the big goliaths of the aleague which is why our requests
for fixture parity fall on deaf ears each season.

I would even go as far as the football media, look at the punditry on foxtel. Incredible bias
towards east coast teams

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

still not getting my point, it has nothing to with half the league (including wellington)
this season being in NSW, it also has nothing to do with covid excuses either. it has to do
with fixture parity

as a nsw club, you should be travelling interstate 6 times this year (would normally be 7, but
we currently have the wollongong phoenix team this season) so thats melbourne x3, brisbane,
perth, adelaide. Correct? every 3rd match you should be on the road travelling. Sydney
has had a block of 6 at the start and now a block of 7 nsw games.

You’re going to honestly sit there and tell me the scheduling hasnt helped nsw teams gain any
form of momentum this season due to there mountain of home state games and lack of travel?

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

tell me about it!

hows brisbane going to fair this week? will they beat macarthur in the long
ball statistic or will macarthur beat them in the pass backwards one? seems like it will be a
riveting contest

i laughed when i read moon recent comments about having two capable replacements in
courtney-perkins & trewin, they’ll be back on the bench this week while the 2 over paid brexit
players take there spots.

He is really out of his depth as an a league coach, might be time to quietly put him out of
his misery and transition him into the head coach of that amazing acaemdy of yours that i
constantly hear talked about, that doesnt produce any players.

The latest FA report clearly shows QLD as the problem state in this country with the least
amount of homegrown players per population
