funny you should mention fighting for justice; all those years and money spent getting my bachelor of laws and then not even going into that
field. I really should look back into it, but i prefer my football related
career, much more rewarding

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

we have aleady reached our limit of sydney eshays in adelaide, we cant accept any more
wearing bum bags with fake gucci caps and fake versace shirts 😊

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

i havent seen much of the premier league this season, but i know this year is a bit kooky with
all the crazy results and the away teams beating the home teams a lot.
i could easily go the injuries route as well, weve got 6 first team players currently injured. Have yet to play are actual best XI this year

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

you’re missing my point

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

“He’s bald, hes an ex red,
Now he sleeps in the wanderers snake infested bed.
james prissy troisi, james prissy troisi!”

i would love to get that chant going during the match

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

nope. not after his false derogatory comments against the club that gave him a lifeline when no one else would

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

6 games in nsw in a row, 1 in melbourne, 1 in nsw, 1 in brisbane, 2 in nsw, 1 in perth
1 in adelaide, 1 in melbourne, 7 in nsw in a row that is your fixture list

You can use the covid excuse all you want and the sheer amount of nsw teams in the league, but
the scheduling has been incredibly bias to nsw teams. You will only have travelled interstate
4 times before the finals and had 2 massive blocks of home state games, explain to me how that
is fair?

compare it to adelaide/perths fixture list this season and you tell me whats wrong?

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

mariners and newcastle are small east coast teams, but they have plenty of reasons to believe in the east coast bias. They are more than welcome to join the interstate alliance in the fight for fairness

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

its hard to compare because australia is a massive country compared to most parts of europe. But going with the chelsea thing, there are multiple london teams in the premier league this season correct? (chelsea/arsenal/tottenham/fulham/west ham who am i missing?) How would teams feel at playing 7 games in a row at stamford bridge?

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

there are multiple team that are in agreeance over this matter (Perth/Adelaide/Wellington)
i would even go as far as including mariners and newcastle fans in this bracket, even though
they are east coast teams they have had many decisions go against them from the bigger
east coast teams.

by my count; 5 different teams have a genuinue issue (almost half the league) i would say
thats a bit more then conspiracy theorists. East coast bias is real, its the fact that
it constantly gets swept under the rug by people/teams in position of power within the sport
where the real concern is

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

MAC 0 vs 0 BRI – the 2 most boring playing styles in the league clash here, I will definitely be giving this match a skip as I like watching football to be entertained not fall asleep. as for the prediction? like both teams play, a boring draw

NEW 1 vs 1 MVC – the battle for the spoon, I don’t know if victory are good enough to take all 3 points though, I can see them scoring but there defence is that open Newcastle should definitely get a goal in this game

SYD 1 vs 2 MCY – city absolutely must try and get as many points as possible before they lose potentially 5 players to the extended national team squad. They have more than enough firepower to leave nsw with the 3 points and push close to top spot. Game in hand for city regardless of result

ADL 3 vs 2 WSW – wanderers always match up well against us, and there is plenty of goals in that team. But were at home and would be expected to win in an high scoring encounter. I think I might lose my voice by the end of this match with the constant booing of judas troisi – game in hand still regardless of result

WEL 2 vs 1 WUN – this could be match of the round, if wellington don’t win I think they can be counted out of the top 6 race, im going for them in an upset? Home win against the thugs who have
found form at the right time of the season. 2 games in hand regardless of the result for the thugs

NEW 1 vs 1 PER – 2 teams that deserve a lot better. Will be interesting to hear the richard
garcia press conference after this match, considering it will be the third nsw match in a row
they have played. East coast bias in full effect

ADL 1 vs 0 MAC – It will be good to actually
have macarthur leave nsw for a change, i have a feeling they will play the same dross
like they do every week to try and make the adelaide players fall asleep. This match will be tighter then i would like. Potentially top spot on the line as well depending on other results

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

will gladly take the fine, its needed to highlight the consistent east coast bias. You should write an article about it, but that requires you to understand it first

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

It will be interesting if the FA fines him, he is talking about a myriad of topics that
intertwine to form the web of east coast bias, he tried to word it very carefully as well but
is so frustrated, we in adelaide feel exactly the same way
He is upset at scheduling, 7 games in a row in your home state is an absolute joke. Regardless
of several teams being in nsw, that should not happen and wouldn’t happen anywhere else
in the world. That is 100% designed to have sydney in the finals and im going to make a big
statement here, i would not be surprised if sydney wins the whole thing now; which is a shame
as they’ve been poor this season. But unfortunately, city and us will be gutted by the socceroos
extended squads, central coast is looking very wobbly and there’s no other team in the 6
that will challenge sydney
i know Adelaide have asked for a please explain in terms of the fixture list twice this
year (once before the season started about not getting games in timeslots that we have specifically
requested for years and no they’re not the glamour Saturday night ones, it has fallen on deaf
ears for years) and it was also brought up a few weeks ago directly to the FA about NSW teams
scheduling; in particular sydney
7 games in a row in your home state, i dont think half you guys on the east coast are fully
understanding perth or adelaides gripe here. How would you feel about playing 7 games in a row in western/southern Australia? You would be screaming blue murder over it.
If we weren’t in the finals race and languishing in victorys position I would go as far as forfeiting a match or 2, take the 3-0 loss and fine and then be dragged Infront of the FA board and explain why we have decided to do this extreme action. The fact the FA will not respond to perth or Adelaide shows you its real
he is upset at never getting calls in sydney, ever since the league’s inception east coast
teams seem to get even the majority of 50/50 calls. I know people are going to say that
adelaide got 3 penalties against the mariners, yes but we also had a var go against us vs
macarthur (that was wrong) and a clear shot on goal blocked by a hand against the mariners
that we got nothing for + we also gave away 2 penalties in that match.
yes decisions have a way of evening themselves out over the course of the season. But consistently
teams like sydney get the most decisions go for them, happens all over the world with the big
clubs vs the little clubs. I just want some parity.
He is upset at the game not being called off, it doesn’t matter if it was the first minute or
the last minute. They should’ve called that game off last night and as much as i hate to say it, reschedule
it. I guarantee you if the floodlights go out in adelaide/perth and were playing sydney and
they’re losing; the officials will call the game off.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

He’s right and that was an epic press conference!!! I suggest everyone watch it to gain a better understanding of the east Coast bias that clearly exists, but apparently no one knows about it on the east coast

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Match Week 16

Agreed. Adelaide city and west adelaidewould be the candidates backed by the Italian and Greek population here. Both sets of fan groups rarely attend adelaide united matches

Is what's perfect getting in the way of what's good for football?

Check out the Richard Garcia press conference, he made reference to the east coast bias. I love it!!

Is the A-League's final top six already set?

i think there’s a reason why most clubs havent used them, i believe they’re quite costly (which
is why we only use 1 lol) and require a person with some form of license

i say just bring flares back, i’ve got a couple in my garage that i would love to fire up
at a match lol. I remember hiding flares in my pants back in the days when we played
victory lol. good times!

Is what's perfect getting in the way of what's good for football?

disagree, true day 1 real die hards support there club whether they win or lose in rain or heat. Its
when fans like me become disillusioned with there club that the a league will struggle.

As long as there’s passionate club men like myself in each club the a league will survive

Is what's perfect getting in the way of what's good for football?

‘safe smoke’ is the way forward until flares are allowed back into the stadium, i have yet to see any other a league teams use safe smoke (except adelaide) more teams should be using it

Is what's perfect getting in the way of what's good for football?

yes they charged me $39.99 and a $10 road toll to cross the bridge.

non top 6 related, our NPL team kicks off on sunday and the production line of young talent
in adelaide just gets better and better. I’m going to give you a list of the players
to watch out for in the next 18 months to either make there united debut or be poached
by a league clubs (i think the majority of the squad will make the grade, but these are the
really talented ones in my eyes)

Ethan Cox (goalkeeper who is challenging delianov and gauci at the moment)

defenders Fergus Lynch (16 year old already made the matchday squad this season), Alexandar Popovic,
Kane Vidmar (son of tony vidmar), Jean Paul Mbembe

midfielders Jonny Yull (15 year old who has already played for the first team this year) &
Ethan Alagich (son of richie alagich)

our attacking talent is the best in the country. Domenic Costanzo (son of angelo costanzo who
blitzed the NPL last season, yet to make first team debut) Musa Toure (15 year old younger
brother of the toures) Binyam Kebede, Luka Jovanovic, Nestor Irankunda & Panashe Madanha

Is the A-League's final top six already set?

i have been speaking about futsal and street football in australia for many years, there is a growing sub culture of these 2 forms of the sport that need more attention.
Each a league club should have a dedicated futsal team as well as a street football team. We scream out about the lack of technical skills in our juniors, if more played futsal; even street
football to a degree you would see our kids develop these skills

Is what's perfect getting in the way of what's good for football?

in my ideal world when transfer fees are finally introduced, then yes; sydney would be given a
fee from city and phoenix for the amount of time they have had the player in there youth
ranks for before he was pinched by a rival club.

all clubs should be fairly compensated whether that player was in the youth team for 1 year
or 4 years

Is the A-League's final top six already set?

no team should be playing that many games in there home state in a row, even in this covid
infected season and with several nsw teams. That is one of the reasons why central coast and
macarthur (and soon to be sydney, given there schedule to finish the season) have done so well
this season.

They don’t need to jump on an airplane each week (sometimes twice a week), sleep in a different bed, train
on a different pitch etc. All these little things add up and if you look at the start of the
season; we were getting slaughtered interstate because we were travelling more than other
teams.

i also wonder if there’s any correlation to the amount of injuries we’ve picked up (6 first team
players currently out injured) compared to central coast/macarthur/sydney who have hardly had
injuries this season with the constant travel.

We’ve still got to go to nsw twice and melbourne twice before the season is out. There is no
way in the world a team should be playing seven matches in a row in there home state, where
is the parity in scheduling?

like i said imagine if perth played several matches in western australia in a row or we played
several in south australia. The east coast mafia would be palpable.

bring up sydneys fixture list and ours as an example and you will see what i mean, if you don’t
believe me. *x files music plays in the background*

east coast bias

Is the A-League's final top six already set?

the point im trying to make, is normally you play 1 game at home one week then you travel away
the next week.

Sydney have7 games in the same state in a row is laughable (except im not laughing) its almost
like the league want to make sure sydney definitely qualify for the 6. I understand the league
is made up of lots of NSW teams, but where’s the fairness when 1 team plays in there home state
for 7 games in a row?

People are going to say that wellington havent played at there home in New Zealand, thats
true but they’ve been based in the same state all season and have also benefitted from ‘east
coast bias’ in the fact they have barely travelled interstate.

you need to see how this looks like from a non east coast a league fan, im pretty sure perth
fans would also feel agrieved with the scheduling this season. Imagine the team with the best
home record in the competion (adelaide) playing 7 game in a row in south australia? we would
blitz this league

the conspiracy is real!

Is the A-League's final top six already set?

if progress is to be made it needs to be in small steps. Here are some things i believe can
actually be fixed and some ideas i believe need to be introduced (if the FFA trys hard enough)
*a leagues clubs community engagement – i don’t want to toot Adelaide’s horn here, but i believe
we do it better than a lot of clubs in the league. Clubs needs to actively be going to
schools in there state, npl clubs, heck even the bigger supported amateur league clubs. Show they
care about grassroots, there needs to be that connection established
*junior club player fees – paying between $1000-$4000 a season is a joke, no other sport in the
country do you pay absurd club fees for your kids to play.
*major sponsorship partner/s – i know bunnings flagged there interest with a high 6 figure
offer, but the a league can do better then them (no offence to bunnings). Needs to be a well
known international brand, someone to the level of coca cola (not saying it should be them lol)
*broadcaster – finding a partner/s who will showcase the a league like a proper league and pay a
decent amount for the rights with excellent content. If that’s a streaming service like DAZN so
be it. Also need a good free to air partnership, SBS has always done football proud in this
country; unfortunately there budget has been slashed. But that is a station that morally fits the sport.
*AIS institute – absolutely must be reintroduced across multiple age groups (u14/u16/u18) in
boys and girls. 30 elite players in each age group, with the end goal to be at least a league
ready if not international ready by the time they finish studies
*futsal competition – would love to see each a league club have their own futsal club televised
tournament. Futsal is extremely popular across the country and you barely hear anything about
it if you’re not in the know
*e league tournament – foxtel showed this last year and optus did it this year with the premier
league. E league is massive in terms of popularity and money. Each a league club should have a
representative for playstation and x box fifa. I dont think people understand how much money fifa
ultimate team actually makes a season from players. we need to cut into that stream
*beach football and street football tournaments – optus has covered some australian street
football but again each club should have there own players and same as beach football in a club
type competition. These are 2 areas that need development here in australia.
*football friendly media people – this is the hardest of all the things to fix in my opinion. The
media is made up of afl/nrl people. Surely there some young upcoming journalists that want to
upset the apple cart and are fans of football. We need more football people in positions of power
in the media in australia
