A everyday middle aged wce supporting west Australian dad and husband, blue collar former foreman so no bells and whistles here-no matter your background, socio economic standing, education level, race and sexual orientation I couldn't care just don't be a noodle. Accept I will disagree with you but don't be offended if I respond with an opinion that you might not like-to old to Molly coddle grown men who don't have a broad mind. family comes first but my chihuahua, vinyl, vintage band shirts, stereo and various other speakers and headphones and obviously my orbital mixer for pavs, cheesecake, cakes, sponge, scones come in behind the wifey a kiddos. Stay cool, realise not everyone reflects your ways and some are more used to blunt language and open minds and measured but lively thrust and parry conversation especially regarding footy but don't argue silly and pointless stuff with me and don't get uppity because I'm not articulating myself in the way you've decided the world should act and I will offer the same courtesy to however you wish to present yourself. If my grammar is shite build a bridge, if I come across grumpy I probably am so get over it, troll me then get a life and get over it, if there are auto correct mistakes I'm not editing because I reckon you will be able to work it out and if you can't just ask me if that was a mistake if this bothers get over it. Life is to short and to much fun for me to be worried by internet ppl but I will happily engage in banter and shit and giggles, I have a long rope, thick skin and I make a glorious Yuzu sling so don't be a dick to me and we'll all play hard and fair with the energy of a 1984 van Halen road crew.

Tassie is lovely, wasn’t exactly over run with young people when I was there.

AFL News: AFL reportedly makes CEO call, Sicily sorry for Tassie sledge as Wade fires back, Neale responds to 'flop' criticism

That wasn’t the question though, what is on offer in Tassie for 18-22yo? which I’m guessing was around the age Sicily was referring. We know Geelong but it’s 70 km to Melbourne so it has some appeal and GCS isnt a footy market but given population it could well be.

Serious question here, what is on offer for 18-22yo?

Beatnik poetry my friend, rules including grammar is for squares enslaved by the man 😛

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

Trading in a player O’Meara age with degenerative knees is ridiculous list mngt, maybe wce should offer up Shuey and Yeo to them this trade to continue that sort of strong list planning 😁

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

For the first 5 games we can say that regarding Dons and saints but let’s compare apples and say those 2 are similar to Freo last year but unlike Freo 2022 they haven’t even qualified for finals so the farm must be calmed in that comparison imho. Brayshaw is a solid b like his brother and will have a strong career but I can never see him being a put the team on his back player which isn’t a criticism, serong has that ability, we saw Bont do it last night and the glimpses where many in his early days same as Neale, danger, Fyfe etc etc but as Rossy said “one swallow doesn’t make the summer” and Andy summer looked good but his faults are suddenly exposed without a mundy or Fyfe putting those big frames in the way.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

Yeah JLo will cop it, as should garlik, bell and Alcock but let’s be honest here Freo have a average list and rely on small fwds, Brayshaw is to easily tagged out of a game, Walters is their most competitive fwd yet is near retirement, Pearce is not a captain nor is he a strong defender, baffles how serong or even Luke Ryan didn’t get the captaincy. 2022 Freo rebounded from the hub years extremely well, probably because they spent 2021 at home mainly but honestly that finals appearance was before time in a odd season. So many pieces missing and unless they can convince Logan McDonald or Naughton to come back to WA to help amiss I can’t see the current make up of Freo list pushing anytime soon with only serong, Ryan and Darcy as A graders.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

I dunno what the fix is aswell mate, this is problematic for WA AFL teams imho. The wafl across the board is not to the standard of the SANFL which seems to co exist with port Adelaide being powers ressies and the crows having a stand alone team for quite sometime and that newish east coast states VFL comp the AFL has funded is a massive advantage for the Vic, NSW and Qld teams. It feels like there are still to many involved with wafl sides who are p1ssy at wce and Freo but fail to admit the wafl was dying like the VFL was in the early 80s through bad business and greed. Wce need this side and Freo need to have control of the peel league side so neither are left behind in player development which might not be a big issue yet but in 10 years time if every side except wce and Freo are playing in A grade 2nd tier comps where the AFL sides structure and game plan are being taught in match conditions and our sides are in Mickey mouse land while the rich wafl sides are dictating what the money earners of WA footy can do it will cause major issues for footy in WA imo.

AFL News: Premiership hero un-retires for injury-hit Eagles, Pies star's partner responds to video scandal

Unless you can create another wafl side like peel with no history etc in place of the wce side for the to align it won’t work. No wafl side with history wants to be aligned to the AFL clubs. I’m not expecting wce to be given special treatment but at wafl level they can’t keep fielding sides consistently made up of country and ammo players because it creates situation like last week with the Cardinals getting a %boost of ridiculous proportions. The clubs accepted over a million dollars between them from wce to field a side and surely that should get a competitive side, not one thatwill load up on AFL Players to win premierships as seen in the past but one that could finish 5tg or 6th on regular basis. Trust me my wafl club has been given dregs by the other clubs and are uncompetive most years, there are four wafl sides who have had the competitive advantage to often due to favourable zones like Claremont and souths or like Subi and east Perth and favourable deals they got for other sports or entertainment using their grounds and it’s pretty well those four and hopefully the rest can have the odd success and now wce are added to the mix of filling their coffers for no benefit of competition.

AFL News: Premiership hero un-retires for injury-hit Eagles, Pies star's partner responds to video scandal

Is it unsustainable or are the wafl clubs and the ridiculous point system they’ve put on wce causing the issues? I don’t support wce at a wafl level but certain wafl clubs have taken the cash wce paid them and imposed rules that make them uncompetive, they’re scared wce will dominate and that is compounded by the peel dockers flags a few years back. Ultimate thing is wce can afford it so they’ll stay over alignment to a traditional club which seeing the way the rich wafl clubs ie Subi, Claremont, south screwed peel and Perth for years I doubt screwing wce will change.

Keep it in Adelaide, see no logical reason to ever move it unless another state government gives the AFL more dosh cause that’s the main reason it’s in Adelaide the sa Govt paid up.

AFL locks in Adelaide Gather Round long term after 'unbelievable success'

Still no real complaints with what wce produced, to recover from halftime with the age and experience of the side we fielded shows we are moving in the right direction. Like against Melbourne no one would of been surprised that Geelong won but when 77points down and the towel never got thrown is pleasing for a developing squad.

Six Points: 2023's biggest umpiring farce, Kelli Underwood's commentary, and was Gather Round really THAT good?

Maybe Freo need a cigar, rum and a bucket of KFC for Voodoo and draft Corbin Bernsen, sheen, Berenger and snipes?

Footy Fix: Don't let the comeback fool you, Freo have been worked out

Black fence boards, black jumper, appalling lighting, was a bit of a horror show. And Freo remain bog average.

Time for a new voice I reckon cam.

Hardwick's shortcomings are being exposed: Richmond's inability to win close games falls on the coach

He should also stay off the couch, off the microphone and stay out of other mens wallets 😛

Six Points: Finlayson deserved better than awful question, and the Swans who stuffed up in crazy finish

Well said, I’ve always seen articles in wce downtime about they’ve stuffed up but no side outside Vic has as many or well spread premiership eras so I’m always cynical towards the article but comfortable with the clubs direction. I see alot of classic no young talent comments but bazzo, Hough and Edwards is a good start in the backs, Hewett, ginbey, Chesser and Culley isn’t bad mid start, long looks great in the fwd line so far and over time jammo will develop into a strong fwd/ruck imo. That’s not a bad launching pad with the likes of cole, Allen etc who should comfortably be part of our next premiership tilt. Journos tend to forget that each club has to do it differently when refreshing the list especially after the ultimate success and make most of their advantages ie Geelong getting danger and Cameron due to locale when opportunity arises.

The Eagles are facing the dark long-term reality of their success

Wce are going to be fine, 32yrs, 7gf, 4 flags shows they know what it takes, everything said at the moment is similar to post 89, post Malthouse, post 2007, post woosha, post 2015, post 2017 and the rebound to a premiership is extremely short. Always makes good reading but most often misses the mark. Tim Kelly is a medium term investment ultimately not the short term sugar fix most think, studies of alot of professional sports teams shows it takes approximately 50 to 60 games for a player to gel and instinctively understand the team and teammates, that’s where Kelly is at.

The Eagles are facing the dark long-term reality of their success

From the club who gave us joffa I’m not surprised with what happens at Collingwood.

AFL News: Pies star to play as further details emerge of video scandal, Fagan defends under-fire Daniher

If you think simmo has lost the players then watch yesterday derby and re evaluate that opinion. Sounds like the next while may be difficult but if ppl are realistic and look for the positives the direction wce are heading will be clearer than the murky humdrum given.

Six Points: The fundamental flaw in ump dissent rule, Cats in crisis, and Jamarra a chance to right footy's wrongs

Rd 1 I was satisfied with a 5pt loss, away from home with multiple players returning from long lay offs and 3 first gamers as except for the second quarter I could see what simmo and the coaching staff where trying to achieve. Some said I was making excuses, one even said he looked forward to a Freo percentage boosting victory come the Derby -fantastic Freo perspective forgetting you need success before arrogance can come.
This week with a few tweeks in the 22 and it was there for all to see vs GWS, youth, speed, player buy in, spread of young, middle age and senior players, taking the angle with incisive kicking, peripheral vision with the handball. I’m satisfied with what I saw.
We may lose to Freo but equally we enter the Derby with greater confidence, better transition, stronger forwards, equal mids actually better mids and a backline that should be dominant over the Freo forwards. Simmo can coach and the list though transitioning is in stronger shape than what is always said. And if spp can continue to build on yesterday then it looks even brighter.

Six Points: Bevo has a month to save himself, and the rule tweak needed to prevent another 'Sirengate'

2018 gf when Ryan bumped Maynard was a match turning team lifting action and took Maynard mind out of the game as he looked for a square up brilliant stuff. You can’t have full-time athletes playing a 360 degree contact sport without chance for life altering injury and when looking at paddy mccartin, Venables and Brad Sheppard their concussion injuries never involved being bumped but that doesn’t fit outrageous outcry.

Disparity in McAdam and Pickett bans is just plain wrong, but the bump isn’t dead, and when done right it’s a beautiful thing

We all accept the woosha on modra or Pickett on Krummel days are long gone but tha bump will never be gone and if the player stuffs it up he’ll wear consequences. It’s a high speed contact sport that will see more tackle based injuries in a year than how often we’ll see it from a bump but the outcry ambulance chasing media will always over play it.

Disparity in McAdam and Pickett bans is just plain wrong, but the bump isn’t dead, and when done right it’s a beautiful thing

We where 2ñd last last year, played 3 first gamers, 3 guys playing 1st game in 12-18 mths, 2 guys who missed most of last year. Taking it all in account I’m content that we nearly stole it from the deficit we created in the second.

Six Points: Kozzie's bump deserved a month off, draws are awesome, and the Pies are officially likeable

I was happy enough with wce performance and still content after watching some other sides turn up the toes in the matches that followed.
