I believe Bellyache or whoever chose Munster over Nico Hynes made a mistake. For all Munsters other-worldly talent, I believe his ego is hampering the Storm’s cohesion.
I just don’t see the “mental-steel” in this team. Specially when compared to Storm teams of old. Or the Panthers…
Interesting reading a while ago, Storm’s win percentage is higher with just Huges as opposed to both Huges and Munster.
Nothing I’ve seen this year has proven otherwise. Could still be wrong of course, just my “gut-instinct” or a fact-learned bias…

That’s a good point about affecting his confidence BA & not something I considered. But, you are correct. Would be a shame to dent his confidence while he’s still developing. Hopefully he can progress as he’s a great prospect. As they say, “You can’t coach speed!”

Agree on the 13 issue Jez. I’d put Flook in, definitely has potential. The general consensus around his limitations seems similar to those concerns around Ikitau at the earlier stage of his career. Ikitau has blossomed well and I believe Flook has a similar upside. Good communicator, defensive ability and distribution skills. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders too.

Peter, while that’s true about Toole’s defence during those games, at least he has some semblance of attacking nous. Vunivalu’s defence was just as poor without any attacking “upside” when compared to Toole. I say give him a chance, couldn’t do any worse could he?

My five cents, I wonder how much of Dean’s “player-empowerment” style is still impacting the Wallabies?
As much as Cheika cops the blame for poor discipline in his teams, I believe it was a “carry-over” from Dean’s reign.
The “toxicity” as Quade described it has continued. Players “empowered” but not held accountable. Then when the odd time they have been, the toys have been thrown out of the cot.
I have no hard evidence, only my opinion. But, take Kurtley for example. Never ever improved his defence or tactical nous. But, shown undue favouritism while others weren’t. When things aren’t perceived to be “fair”, it can definitely affect the teams “morale”.
Not saying the morale is bad now, just a “hang-over” with a few of the players from that generation of players.
